While You Were Away...

Jack pov:

It was bit early in the morning for me when I woke up today. Today's the day when Mark and Luna leave to go visit Mark's mom.

I've got to be honest, I'm gonna miss 'em! Cincinnati is a bit far from here after all! I walked out with some of Mark's luggage under my arm and took it to the car. Today is honestly a perfect day for a walk, I'll have to go for one later.

I placed the bags in the cab and looked over to see Mark in the door way talking to Luna. I'll miss Chica but mark promised his mom that she'd come to so she got sent over a day earlier.

I walked over to the both of them with a sad smile spread freely across my tired face."So are ya all set?" Drowsiness dripped from my voice as I yawned. "Just about Jackaboy! You sure you're gonna be ok without us for a few days?" Mark asked with concern in his voice.

"Of course! Do you have your videos prepped? I remembered how prepping videos was a real bitch to do..." I say as I scratch my neck.

He chuckled and patted me jokingly on the cheek. "Yes wifey, all the videos have been prepped and ready to be uploaded. Their on timer so they'll upload themselves. Remember that I'm always a phone call away!" I grinned and gave him a hug and a little kiss.

I'm going to miss this man, I can feel it already and he hasn't even left yet.

I looked towards Luna who was now on her phone texting someone. "Hey Luna! You ready?" I let go of mark and grinned widly at my child. She looked up with a slightly spaced out look. "Yep! I'm ready for this! I'm super excited! But a little sad because that means leaving you and alex for a few days." She pouted at me with big puppy dog eyes.

"Hey. Hey! Don't worry kiddo! I'll be fine all by my little ol' self! I've lived this long so far so I'm sure I can manage!" I ruffled her frizzy hair a bit which made her giggle.

I gave her a hug and kissed her cheek goodbye. I watched sadly as they got in the car. I waved goodbye to them until the cab turned the corner and vanished from sight. Now it's just me and this house feels so much bigger then before.

Evening had finally rolled around and it felt amazing outside! I grabbed a hoodie and a small snack as I made my way outside.

As I walked down the street the sunset seemed to make the sky look like an abstract painting.

It felt so oddly calm out today. Maybe I should visit Echo's tree, it has been quite a long time? As I walked I peeled my orange and hoped to see echo today. As I grew closer to the tree it seemed that the wind kept egging me on to come closer.

I looked up to see a shadow of a young girl dangling from the tree. "Hey!!" I heard Echo call out in her light bubbly voice. "Hi." I cheered back as I began to climb the tree. "So Mark and Luna left today right? You gonna be ok?"

"Yes! I'm going to be fine. Maybe for once things are actually looking up for me, for us!" I cheered as I ate a slice of my orange. We talked for a bit until I felt a buzz in my pocket. I wonder why Mark's calling?

"Sup darling, miss me already?" I smiled as I waited for his response.

"Nah sweetheart, just called to warn you that my dear friend lexi decided to come for a visit. She didn't tell me until just now that she was coming. Sorry this is so sudden but I gotta go now suga' hips!" I heard him make a kissing noise before he hung up.
