When Millie opened her eyes, she found herself on the mattress of her bedroom; the light of the sun filtered through the window, lighting her angelic sleepy face. She always loved waking up with the sound of the birds chirping and the sunlight beating down her face.

She stretched her arms and yawned.

At first impact, she smiled, closing her eyes again in order to sleep some more, because she didn't remember what had happened the evening before.

She never slept so much in years. She even skipped dinner, refusing to see anybody or to get out of her room. But, then, she remembered why, and reality hit her like a truck.

And it hurt.

She could picture all her tears; the horrible words that man said to her; his demoniac eyes looking at her like she was an unanimated object without value, and, most of all, the lies of her father in order to protect her...

She hated Finn Wolfhard, and that was final.

"Stupid, disgusting, piece of shit." she mumbled, yawned again, and still with tired eyes, she checked for her phone. The phone... he had stolen from her as a part of her punishment.

I wonder how dad is... I want to talk to him. He must be worried sick, she thought, while sobbing. What would she have given to hug her dad again, just for one minute, or to talk to him about everything.

She knew he needed her, like she needed him.

Millie felt her eyes getting wet as she heard someone knocking on her door. The first thing she did was covering her night gown with a robe.

"Who's there?" she asked, her heart beating fast.

"Millie, it's Lilia. I just want to talk to you about yesterday..."

Millie sighed, massaging her temples.

"I'm not really in the mood..."

"Millie, you haven't eaten anything since yesterday, nobody had seen you, and we need to talk anyway. Please, let me in. I don't want to argue with you. And Sarah gave me cookies and milk you like so much..."

Millie sketched a tiny smile - she couldn't resist food - and quickly walked to the door, opening it soon after; Lilia was standing there, with a silver tray in her hands, a beautiful smile and she looked so gorgeous in her mint colored dress, with her white heels and her hair all curled up.

"Come in..." Millie said softly, sitting again on her bed with legs crossed.

Lilia closed the door behind her and sat next to her, placing the tray full of cookies and a cup of milk on the bed with them. The first thing she did was caressing Millie's hair, fixing a lock of it behind her ear.

"So... Yesterday was interesting." Lilia began, smiling bitterly.

"I know, I disappointed you. You told me to act the exact opposite. But I couldn't allow him to talk to me like that..." the brunette let out, looking at her with a guilty expression.

"I know, honey. But you did good. All the maids were rooting for you when we were gone. Gaten wanted to make you a statue for you bravery! You rocked, girl!"

Millie chuckled lightly, but then she remember the situation she was in; and there was nothing to laugh about anymore.

"He didn't fire me just because he... well..."

But Lilia hold her hand, caressing it with her thumb.

"I know. Your father."

"Wait, you knew?" she asked, her heart beating faster and faster.
