Martin
"Thank you for bringing me here." Mila whispered to Martin as he held her back towards the car. He could see her head from behind, because she was a head shorter than him. He could smell the vague strawberry scent of her shampoo through the wind.
He smiled and replied "Yeah.. anytime."
"Are you dropping me home?" She looked up at him, eyes so clear and bright. He blushed because her head turned so suddenly- they were so close to each other.
"Yeah, I will. Is there anywhere you wanna drop by?" He breathed in.
"I was gonna stop by the grocery store to buy something." she carefully said.
The car ride was quiet, but not anymore awkward. He looked at Mila.
She was leaning by the window, looking at the stars outside. Soon enough, they arrived at the closest grocery store from Mila's house. He didn't know why but Mila seemed uplifted. She smiled so bright and got excited like a cute puppy when she got down from the car. He felt happy, and followed her to the store.
Mila grabbed a cart and he just followed her like a lost boy. She smiled and said, "Let me know if you also need anything, we can get it together."
Martin didn't know what he was feeling- it was like being married. Is this what it's gonna feel like? Shopping together, having dinner together, and driving home together. He liked the thought of it when suddenly there was a scream- and he couldn't see anything but a dark thing approaching his eyes.
Mila
"Martin!!" She screamed.
Martin was hit on the face- by Jay. She didn't see him, but apparently he saw them together. How long did he know that they were together? Did he follow them? So many thoughts came to her mind. She couldn't believe that this was happening. They were working across each other. She couldn't believe that Jay would do such a thing to her and Martin. It wasn't as if they were doing something wrong.
Not long after, Martin stood up and stared at Jay while wiping his lips- there was blood. She panicked- she didn't like seeing blood. She felt dizzy, the ceiling was whirling around her and she couldn't see Martin clearly anymore. She could smell the rusty, salty smell of the blood, and she passed out.
Martin
Mila suddenly fell down and laid on the floor. He couldn't believe what was happening but he did the first thing that came to his mind- pick up Mila from the floor. Jay was standing- mouth opened and panicking at Mila. He tried to pick her up too, but Martin just pushed him away, making him land on the floor- hands sprawled on the floor supporting himself.
"Leave us alone, Jay!" he shouted and picked up Mila and went out of the store. He went to the car and headed straight for the emergency room. He saw from behind Jay's car following them. He ignored Jay- getting angry. He hit the handle hard while driving.
How dare he hit me!
He was pissed- he didn't do anything wrong to Jay. He dumped Mila because he was leaving, and now he was mad because Mila was doing other things?
They arrived at the hospital, Mila seemed to come back to her senses because she cringed her nose. He still picked her up and let the nurses see her. He didn't know if Jay still followed them, but he didn't care. All he cared was if Mila was okay, and what caused her sudden collapse.
