I ran out of the office, not even bother to tell my boss where I was headed. Chloe called out to me, begging me to stop, but I didn’t. I kept running. I had to find Marley, Eric and J.J. before Nathaniel does anything to them.

I climbed into my car and was just about to pull out of the parking space when Chloe climbed into the car with Tayvon, putting on her seat belt. I just stared at her, wondering why she had just jumped into my car and why she had her cat with her.

“What are you doing, Chloe?” I asked her.

“I’m coming with you,” she replied.

“No, you’re not, Chloe.”

“Yes, I am. I almost lost you last time and I’m not going to lose you again.”

Chloe was serious and I saw how scared she was in her eyes about losing me. I still feel horrible for not having the same feelings I had for her. Maybe I do, but I haven’t yet paid any attention to what I feel for her.

“Okay, you can come, but do you have to bring Tayvon with you?” I asked.

She patted him. “I’m not leaving him behind.”

I didn’t like her bringing along Tayvon, but I agreed to allow her to because I didn’t feel like getting into another argument with her. I shifted the gear into reverse and reversed out of the parking space before placing it into drive, speeding off down the street towards the Hollywood sign.

There were a few people around near the sign, and I knew it would be a disaster if Nathaniel decides to do anything. I guess that’s why he had taken them into the forest, away from the crowd. There’s no way he could kill anyone with a crowd around.

“What are we going to do about the crowd?” Chloe asked.

I shrugged my shoulders. “I don’t know.”

“Listen, you go find them and I will call for back up.”

I got out of the car and headed towards the woods. Once I was out of sight from the crowd, I pulled out my gun and loaded it. I held it close to me. I wasn’t sure where they were or how I was going to find them.

I could hear some twigs snapping. I stood there for a moment to listen to where it was coming from and to make sure it wasn’t my own feet. It wasn’t. Someone was out there. I stayed calm, and looked everywhere to see if I could see anyone coming. If it’s Nathaniel, I had to make sure he doesn’t see me otherwise if my back is to him, no doubt he would pierced a bullet through my back.

“Noah?”

I jumped when I heard the voice coming from behind me. I turned to the voice. I was about to pull the trigger when I realised that it was Chloe.

“Damn it, Chloe. Don’t sneak up on me like that.”

“I didn’t sneak up on you.”

“Yes, you did! I almost shot you, Chloe!”

“I’m sorry, okay? I didn’t mean to sneak up on you. I called Chief and he is going to get here soon, promising that he is going to get rid of the people near the sign so they don’t get involve with anything. I then went to find you, not exactly sure where you would be.”

I turned away from her and looked around me, still unsure which way we should head to find Marley, J.J. and Eric. They were out there somewhere and we needed to find them before it gets dark, which was in about four or five hours away.

“Where do you think we should look?” Chloe asked.

“I have no idea. They could be anywhere.” I turned to look at her. “Are you sure you want to take Tayvon with you?”
