I wake up on my own for once on my own. I check the time, and it's only 7:30. I have about 2 hours until I have to be downstairs for breakfast. My maids should be up soon, and happy to know that I'm awake and that they don't have to wake me up. I grab a book off the shelf and start reading. Then, I put down my book and think about last night. It was wonderful. I grab my book and start reading again. Then, I put down my book again and think about the people in the hallway talking about someone. I still have to figure that out.

I think for a while, then pick up my book and read. 

I check the time, it's 9:00. Crap.

Where are my maids?

I check outside the door. Nobody. 

"Oh well," I say to myself.

Soon after, I finally hear a knock at my door.

I open the door.

"Happy Birthday!" two voices say.

Neveni and Alkai walk into my room. One holding breakfast, the other holding flowers, and presents.

I'm overwhelmed. Neveni is Mysterious voice number two. Alkai is Mysterious voice number three. I turn really pale and dizzy. So, I sit down.

"What's wrong?" Alkai asks.

"I'm fine," I lie, "I forgot it was my birthday."

"Eat some breakfast, you'll feel better." Neveni says, shoving a piece of toast near me.

I take a bite, but I'm still super pale.

"Seriously," Alkai says, "what's wrong?"

I take a big breath.

"Ok, I was in princess class a few days ago, then I got cleared because I passed everything that was needed to pass, so I could leave early. On my way back to my room, I heard voices, so I hid behind a wall. As the voices got louder, I heard them talking about someone. ' She's great! I love hanging out with her, but my father hates her.' one voice said. 'She's had such a bad life with her father dying from this same competition!' the other voice had said. Then, I didn't hear voices anymore. I didn't recognize the voices until now. You guys. See I know that guards can't talk to the prince personally, so you need to explain."

"Uhh." Neveni says.

"Ok, umm."

"How do we say this?"

"I have no clue." Alkai says. 

"I got it!" Alkai says and leads Neveni to the corner and whispers something to him.

"Ok," Neveni says.

"I'm going to go straight to the point."

They look at each other.

"We're brothers." they say at the same time.

My sights goes black, and I faint.

Neveni's Point of View

"Wake up!" I yell, trying to shake Foster awake.

"Oh, god we killed her!" Alkai says.

Suddenly, she moves.

Back to Foster's Point of View

 "Oh, thank god!" Alkai says, sighing with relief.

"Oh, calm down, I just fainted." I say, "so you guys are brothers, huh. Then how come Neveni, you're not a prince?"

'Well," Neveni says, " the royal family couldn't have two little boys, close to the same age, so they made me a guard, so I got to be at the top of the Royal's Guard."

"Yeah," Alkai laughs, "I guess I was the cooler brother."

We all laugh.

"Not funny." Neveni says, seriously.

Then he smiles.

"Just kidding. They just thought that Alkai would be better as a prince than me, but we grew up together and are super good friends."

Alkai nods his head as if he was agreeing.

"Ok," Alakai says, "now let's get to celebrating your birthday!"

We all eat breakfast and then I open my presents. I got a gold ring from Neveni and a certificate saying that I can now talk to my family. I haven't seen or talked to them for months, and I never grabbed the jewelry that was from my family, or my father's letter.

When it was time for both of them to leave, I gave them each a hug, and Alkai a kiss on the cheek.

"Thanks guys," I say, "this is now one of my favorite birthdays ever!"
