I was woken up the next morning by my maids again. I guess that waking up on my own was a one-time thing. I get ready like normal. Today, I'm just wearing a light brown sweater,  jeans, and flats- no makeup- and my hair in a high pony. I walk to the foyer and meet Lindsey and Penny. We then head down to breakfast. Today's breakfast is chocolate chip pancakes and blueberry waffles. I take one of each. After breakfast, we go to our princess classes and learn etiquette for dances and business dinners. We should have learned it before yesterday, but we didn't. Then, we went to lunch, mac and cheese, rolls, and green beans. Then, we are allowed to go to our rooms and work on stuff or have some fun. I'm writing in a journal when the siren comes. I've never heard it before, but my maids have, so they tell me.

"It's the siren that tells us to get to safety because someone is in the palace and wants to kill us. All of us except the guards, head to safety. The guards go and fight them." Alexis tells me.

As she tells me this, Elizabeth goes over to my empty wall space in my room and slides it open.

"Let's go," Kristen tells me.

Behind the door is a long, dark hallway. Kristen, Alexis, Elizabeth, and I head into the abyss. Elizabeth, in the back, closes the door, and we're thrown into pitch black. You can't see a few feet in front of you, because its that dark. Alexis pulls out a flashlight and hands it to me, because I somehow am leading us. I grab it.

"Go on," Kristen tells us.

I lead  them down the hallway. It's not long. We walk, then the hallway turns into a staircase.

"We're almost there!" Elizabeth says from the back.

We walk down the stairs, and at the bottom, there's a door.

"Knock at the door, they'll look through the peephole, and open the door for us!" Kristen says.

I knock, and soon we're let inside.

Inside is just a cellar, full of water and people. At the front is the king and Alkai who looks super worried. All of the Chosen are already here.

"There you are!!!" Alkai says, hugging me.

"Yeah, I had no clue what to do when I heard the sirens, but thanks to my maids, I'm in safety!" I reply, "Hey, do you know who's in the palace?"

"Um, I think it's a rebel squad that don't like us. This happens all the time, don't worry."

"Ok," I reply, "I'm going to go sit with Lindsey."

I walk to where she sits with Penny. We sit and talk about a bunch of things, like what we did in our short free time, and who we think is in the castle. Eventually, we're handed tiny water bottles and a baguette. We eat and drink in silence, wondering who the heck is here and what their doing.

Once we're done eating, we get talking again. At this time, it's about 9:00 and I'm exhausted. I get up and go over to the corner to sleep. Soon, I feel someone putting a blanket over me. I open my eyes, and see Alkai. He winks, and gets up to leave.

"No," I say, holding on to the cuff of his jacket, "stay."

He sits down, and I lay my head on his shoulder. Eventually I fall asleep.

"Wake up, miss," Alexis says, shaking me awake, "we can go back now."

"What time is it?" I ask  her.

"3 A.M."

"Wow, we've been here for like 12 hours." I tell her.

"Yep."

She leads back up our tunnel and I just jump into bed. Someone knocks on my door.

"Ugh!" I groan as I get up out of bed to open the door.

Someone -a guard- is at the door.

"Hello, I'm Officer Carliale, or Guard Carliale." he says.

"Hi? Why are you here?" I ask him.

"You don't know?" he asks me.

"Know what?" I ask.

"I'm sorry Miss Foster, but Guard Neveni is dead."

Hi. Sorry. Bye.
