I splash Alkai with water. That's what he gets for pushing me into this lake. It's really cold in the water, considering it's cold outside, which means that it's a lot colder in the lake. So, he deserved that splash. The lakes semi-large, but it's not that big. It's weird that it's in the middle of the woods. But, it's pretty cool. There's a spot where the woods overlaps the lake. So, it's like a cliff edge for the woods, and a little lake-cave for the lake. It's pretty cool. Especially the cliff top has a tree on top, so it's pretty cool.

"Hey!" he shouts, throwing water my way.

I dodge.

"You deserved that! I was already freezing, and now I'm pretty sure I'm going to get hypothermia! Also, these were my only clothes!!" I tell him.

"Oh calm down," he says, " you're fine. I'm in my only pair of clothes, as well, so ha!" he says, as he throws more water at me.

I dunk underwater.

"Oh, so you're cold, yet you go under, great idea!" he tells me.

"Shut up!" I say.

I swim to the cave. I can hear Alkai behind me, so I look for a rock or something to hide behind. I find another empty passageway leading into the darkness. Losing interest in hiding from Alkai, I swim forward. By now, he's close enough to me, to swim towards me to catch up.

"Where are you going?" he asks me once he catches up to me.

"I want to explore this area," I tell him.

"Ok, I'll go with you!"

We swim quietly as we head into the darkness. As we're swimming, I hear something. It's kind of a loud sound, so I gasp.

"What is that??!!" I ask, clearly terrified.

"Calm down, it'll be fine," he tells me, shushing me.

I scoot closer to him. He grabs me in his arms and hugs me tight.

We stay close to each other as still as stone, for what feels like an hour, too afraid to move.

"Let's keep going," he tells me after a while.

We start swimming again, but a lot slower and quieter. Soon enough, we see a small light in the distance.

"What's that?" I ask.

"Light?" he says.

As we get closer, we realize it is light, and that we're getting closer to something leading to light.

We speed up our swimming, and we're not up to the end of the tunnel very slowly. The end of the tunnel ends up in the woods, close to our picnic set up. Alkai gets up first and helps me out. I trip and fall back into the water. Laughing, I get up, but not before realizing that that whole tunnel from the cave was a crystal tunnel. Purple crystals line the walls. I gaze in wonder at all of them. How did I not notice them? That's probably what that sound was. We freaked out and stood still for an hour for nothing. I chuckle.

"Look," I say pointing towards the crystals. "that's probably what the sound was back there,"

He laughs.

"Probably, but it's always good to be prepared. That's cool though, how did I not see that? I've literally never seen that before and I've been here so much!" he says, as he laughs.

"Well, I'm hungry!" I state.

"We have apples!" he says.

"Yum! Let's go get some! I'll race you!"

I start running, Alkai obviously not realizing that I did, tries to catch up, but I beat him there.

"Hah! I beat you!" I tell him.

"Oh c'mon, I wasn't prepared! You just started running!" he protests.

"Yes, but if you were a good runner, you would have beat me! Now, I want my apple!" I tell him, laughing and catching my breath.

"Ok..ok. That'll be your reward!" he laughs.

Heyo! This story's almost over! There are only three more chapters! Be prepared! I plan to finish this story before next Monday.

Also, if you didn't know, I'm a HUGE theatre geek, so I've been listening to my broadway songs playlist the whole time while I was writing this. Spending more time singing the song than actually writing. 😂
