I grab another bite of my sandwich as I look out of the window. The helicopter is descending, so it's cool to see the fog, then the sky, then a cloud (or clouds), then more of the sky, then finally, you can see the ground. Overall, it's super cool to see that progression. For never seeing it before, I guess I reacted weirdly because Alkai laughs at me.
"What?" I ask him.
"Nothing, it's just, you've never descended from up high before?" he asks me.
"No! Some people do not have money and haven't even seen the inside of a helicopter, let alone actually seen one descend!" I tell him and punch him on his shoulder, playfully.
"Geez," he says, rubbing his elbow, acting like it actually hurt. "why are you so mean?!"
I laugh and roll my eyes.
"How long do these things take?" I ask him.
"What? This date? Or this going down in the helicopter?"
"The second one."
"Oh, well, probably a few minutes now, and about like five once we land because the people flying have to prepare the helicopter for complete stopping and things like that."
"Are they going to set up a red carpet for the locals?" I ask, hopeful.
"No," he laughs.
"Why not? They should!"
"For who to see?! No one lives around here."
"Oh," I say feeling stupid.
"C'mon, finish your sandwich before we leave."
Instead of responding, I shove it all in my mouth.
I laugh. He laughs.
"You know, you should learn etiquette."
"Oh shush! I know etiquette! I just figured I didn't need to use it on someone who's worse at it than I am! Plus, you told me to finish, so I did." he laughs.
"Ugh," he says, sarcastically, "you're such a pain!" He says, and we both laugh.
Then an announcement sounds on the speakers that I didn't even know were in here: "We are close to the ground. Please unbuckle your seatbelts, as we land softly. Then, stay calm as we work on shutting down the helicopter. We'll be with you guys to help you out, as soon as possible."
Alkai and I both go to unbuckle at the same time, and we bonk heads.
"Ow, your head hurts!" I tell him.
"It's not my fault your big head got in the way!" he says.
We both laugh. Once unbuckled, and we're both a safe distance away - you don't want to have the bonk heads thing happen again - I realize something.
"Man, we're really trash talking each other a lot today, " I say and we both laugh.
"Yeah, maybe we should stop," he says. "I'll make you a deal. No more trash talking each other. If one of us does, the other can punish them in any way they see fits. Deal?"
"Deal!" I say.
I tun to look out the window.
"You have to shake on it!" he says.
"Oh yeah, right."
I shake his hand.
"Now it's a real deal!"
Hey! Sorry this chapter is shorter than usual, it's just a filler for the next chapter, which I plan on finishing, and publishing tonight! Ok, now I have to do that, bye!!
