Chapter 3: The castle

Minerva Agustin:

A splash of cold water woke me up from the peaceful sleep and brought me back to reality.

"Wake up lady! We have arrived." Said one of those monsters who took me away from my home.

I was still tied with ropes and due to it's rough texture, my wrists and feet were sore. Not to mention how tightly they were knotted. I was thirsty but they had covered my mouth with a cloth so I couldn't ask them for water.

I dragged myself towards a small window to see we had reached Mayana.

What will become of me? Will I be sold off as a salve? Or maybe as worker in a rich lord's mansion? Or they will force me into prostitution- No! I can't let that happen!

"Get up. We have to go." The man said.

I screamed but they sounded muffled due to the cloth on my mouth. The man took off my cloth and I breathed in harshly before saying, " please let me go! Please I want to go home! Please I-I beg of you! I-

I coughed as my dry throat gave up.

The soldier handed me a cup of water and I drank it all in one gulp.

"Listen, don't waste your energy on begging and struggling because it won't work here. It'll be good for you if you just except your fate." He tried to convince me.

"What will you people do to me? Are you going to kill me?" I asked him in a shaky voice.

"No. If we wanted to kill you, you would have been dead by now."

"Then?"

"You will be taken to the castle. You belong to the king now. We were sent by the king to fetch you."

My eyes widened with horror.

Sent by the king?

Third person POV:

They were taking the petite girl to the castle. They had covered her eyes with a cloth and still had kept her hands tied. One soldier held her left arm and one her right as they dragged her to the gates of the palace.

Though her feet were untied so she could walk by herself, still she would keep struggling and so the leader of the group annoyed at the girl, asked two men to hold her. For her little frame, she sure held great strength.

They finally reached the gates and hit the huge handle of the enormous gate. Minerva couldn't quite hear the conversation between the palace guards and the soldier.The gate opened.

Fear got the best of her. She knew that once she entered these gates, it won't be easy to get out.

She knew stories of those girls who were kidnapped like she was and how they were never seen again.

Then an idea popped in her head. She knew struggling won't help. So she did what she could think of at that moment.

She started screaming. She screamed as though she was in agony.

"HELP ME PLEASE! IT'S PAINFUL! PLEASE!"

The men panicked. They were strictly ordered by the king that...

One scratch on her and you all will lose your heads!

"What happened to her!" Their leader shouted.
"Don't know sir!" They tried to ask her but she just screamed. "We must take her to the clinic in the palace. Let's go inside!"
