Third person POV:

The music was soft and the lights were dim.  People were dancing , holding their partners in their arms.

Dahlia looked around the ballroom and her gaze landed on her brother who was dancing with a petite blonde girl with blue eyes and they were staring into each other's eyes as if they were lost, not caring about their surroundings. That must be Minerva. I've heard so much about her. I'd like to meet the girl who has captured my brother's attention...and apparently heart as well. She smiled at the thought and found the couple very cute.

She then saw Alexander dancing with a brunette who seemed kind of awkward. Alexander was staring down at the girl with his signature cocky smirk and saying something Dahlia couldn't figure out considering she was at the other end of the ballroom. She just rolled her eyes. Poor girl, she's being tortured.

Her eyes landed at her sister who was dancing with her husband. She looked so happy as she rested her head on his chest and they moved to the music slowly. Dahlia sighed.

She was offered a dance by some boys who were sons of lords, ministers and generals but she simply refused, every time making an excuse.

"Sweetheart, why don't you step on the dance floor with a guy? There are many who would love to have a dance with you." Her mother suggested. Baby Tobias was playing in his grandmother's arms, or more like him playing with her fingers and gazing at her shining rings with fascination.

"No that's okay mother. I'm good." Dahlia replied, sipping her orange juice.

Gloria shook her head with disapproval. "Dahlia my dear you are young. Don't act like your life has ended. Enjoy yourself. Tell me if something is bothering you." She said with a frown.

"No it's nothing. I just don't like dancing." She lied. She hated lying especially to her mother but she also couldn't tell her the truth.

That she wanted a dance with him.

Before her mother could say something, she took the last sip of her juice and walked out of the ballroom and into the garden.

She hungrily breathed in the fresh air, raising her head up and smiling at the view of the full moon in the sky shining its brightest.

"Why are you so close yet so far away?" Dahlia said. She sounded very broken and helpless, as she looked at the moon. Her words not only referred to the moon but someone else too.

"Why can I only see you but not touch you?" She said, she pitied herself for being in such a hopeless condition.

Is this how one sided love feels like? When you are trying to reach them, even if it meant you are tied up with chains and your struggles will break your bones and pierce your skin. But you don't care. And then suddenly they decide to walk away and you cry for them to hold you... one last time.

Dahlia gulped, trying to push the rising lump in her throat back down. Her eyes pooling with unwanted tears. She took deep breaths, trying to calm down and hoping no one sees her like this.

She heard footsteps from behind her and instantly composed herself.

"You shouldn't be here all alone Princess, you should be inside, dancing." A deep voice said from behind her and she immediately recognised it.

Theo.

She didn't turn around but he came up to her and stood beside her. She could feel him standing close to her and her heart starting racing. She looked up at him and smiled gently.
