Tris' POV
We sit there in awkward silence at our booth. I'm sitting next to Four and Uriah is sitting next to the guy that's name is still a mystery.
"Um, so are you going to introduce me to your friend there?" I ask breaking the silence.
"Before I answer that I want to see the inside of your locket," says Four. He must've noticed the chain around my neck that gives away my hidden jewel of memories. But how did he know it was a locket? Did he see it at school and forget to ask me about it?
I simply take it off and hand it to him. It gets hard to look inside it since I can't be with my best friends anymore. I feel guilty for leaving Carmen with no truly close friends. We were always together at school. We had multiple classes together and always sat with each other at lunch everyday. If one of us were helping out a teacher, both of us were. I can't help but feeling guilty for leaving her just like that. I do watch him open it and his face is taken over by a huge ear-to-ear grin. I look up slightly, just enough to see Uriah's face and man! It lit up like a 1000 Watt light bulb.
"Prior. Beatrice Prior. I knew it," says mystery guy.
"Are you now going to answer my question!?" I ask slightly aggravated.
"I'm Zeke," says the same guy. Wait, Those are the Pedrads!
"Oh my gosh! The Pedrads! I haven't seen you guys in forever!" I nearly shriek. Four covers his ears on the first word. "Sorry," I mumble.
"You seem to be a lot louder than you we're three years ago," states Uriah. Four nods a little. Wait, is he Tobias?
"The one and only!" Four says. "You we're thinking out loud," he adds. I nearly crush him to death with my massive hug. I missed him to much to let go. At first he seems really surprised but a second later he hugs back. But he's careful not to hurt me with all that muscle that could easily crush me.
We stay in this embrace for a minute or so. Then Zeke pretends to clear his throat. We glare at him, but pull back.
Our drinks arrive and I take a sip of my Sprite. We talk for a while until our food comes. At that point we were starving so we all finish our food in like, ten minutes. Zeke pays for the food because they said "You don't have to pay. I brought enough money, anyway," Uriah forgot his wallet, and Tobias said "not it" so they didn't pay.
We leave the diner and head to Menchies. Apparently it's a self serve ice cream shop. Here, I insist on paying because you pay by how much your ice cream weighs. They give in, so that's that.
When we get in I see how many flavors there are and I'm rerendered speechless. There's like eighteen and you can mix flavors! I start grining like an iditot and so do the boys. We all run to the cup, me beating them, and I get maybe... Seven flavors. I notice all the toppings and mental fireworks start exploding colorful candy everywhere, just like the dream of a typical child. This place is amazing.
I load my self with gummies, chocolates, sprinkles, and so much more! When we go and weigh the ice cream the total is $43.71. Crap! We got a lot of ice cream! The boys pull on their guilty faces until I take out a 100 dollar bill. The they just stare in awe with their jaws hanging so so they could hit the counter.
I show my ID and pay. We walk around and talk about stupid stuff and sing like screaming ostriches. When it's 10:00, we head back to my place and I say my goodbies giving them each a hug. I can't wait to tell Carmen!
