Tris' POV

I reach the school to find that almost no one is here yet, to attend this free parking opportunity, so I find a pretty good parking right in front of the school. Over the next five minutes I eat the rest of my cereal bar in peace and watch as everyone slowly starts to get here. I wonder if I'll make friends at this school, I think to myself. When I'm done with my "breakfast" I get my bag and shove my precious cell phone in my back pocket. I stroll into school like if I've been to this school for the last two years, trying to fit in, but everyone notices the short blonde leaving her Lamborghini in the parking spot, front and center. I constantly wish that they wouldn't notice the brand of my car. It just draws attention to me. The attention I don't want or need. Attention is something the very selfish crave. I don't view myself as very selfish. I make my way to the office, which is pretty easy to find. It's on the left of the main entrance, so I go in and ask for my schedule.

"May I please have my schedule and locker information? I'm a new student," I ask.

"Of, course. What's your name?" The secretary asks me.

"Beatrice Prior. But can you register me as Tris Prior because honestly, no one calls me 'Beatrice' and I really hate it when substitutes or teachers call me by my actual name?"

"No problem, Sweetie," Why does this woman talk to teenagers like five year olds? It's getting really annoying. I think to myself.

"Bye Ma'am."

"Bye Sweetheart!"

After that, I'm on my way to my locker when a short girl with light olive skin and dark russet hair runs into me. "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to, I swear to God I didn't!" She gushes.

"It's okay. Relax, no harm done," I reply. There's no way I'll find my locker in time if I run into people.

"Are you new here? I don't remember seeing you before and I always remember a face." She questions.

"Actually, yeah! Today is my first day here and I was looking for my locker. Could you help me find it?" Might as well use her hell now that she's talking to me.

"Sure, what's your locker number?" She asks me.

I look through my bag for a few seconds and then find a paper labled "locker number and combination for student number #369532". I take out the paper and hand it to the girl whose name still I don't know. "Here," I say.

"Let's see...Hmm...YAY!!! Your locker is next to mine I'm locker #302-7 and yours is #302-6! Oh, where are my manners?! I'm Shauna, and you are?"

"I'm Tris and nice to meet you Shauna!" I beam.

"Your other locker neighbor is Veronica R. I hate her. She's not someone you want to hang around, she's bad news," Shauna states matter of factly. "And Next to her is one of my friends, Four, he's really fun to hang out with! Plus, he's athletic and super cute but you didn't hear that from me," she informs me.

"Why?" I ask slowly and cautiously out of suspicion. Maybe she's worried about people hearing some rumor about it or maybe he's with an overprotective girlfriend.

"Because my boyfriend is his best friend," she whistpers into my ears. "He isn't too bad looking, though."

"Oh, don't worry, I'm really go at keeping secrets. But, you it's okay to think that a guy is hot even if your dating someone else?"

"Whatever," she retorts playfully.

We put our stuff in our lockers, after I can actually manage to open mine, and I ask her if she can take me to my classes so I won't get lost. She agrees to do it so we walk to the chorus room and sit down in the back of the class. She takes a quick scan at the rest of my classes and soon figures that I also have Spanish with her and the same free period, which just happens to be our last period! Thank-you administrators or whoever made my schedule! I get to leave this death trap early!

Can this day get any better?!? I already made a friend, who I think will actually stick around unlike some other girls at my old high school, and I think she watches out for me even when she barely knows me. The only friend that didn't leave me was Carmen. This school is ten times better than I expected.
