Last night I went to a party that my cousins hosted. It was great! But I don't think I should have had so much alcohol. Yeah, yeah, I know that at the age of seventeen you shouldn't be drinking because it's illegal and all that crap. I don't honestly care for that law so I drank two vodkas, one martini, three beers, and two wine coolers. But now is the hangover that adults dread. I don't like them one bit but I was in the moment. I'm almost an adult anyway so why wait? When I get out of bed I throw up in the trash can next to my vanity. I could have gone without the beers now that I think of it. I throw up again. And maybe I should have only had one margarita. I puke one last time and think, Maybe I should have just stuck to Hawaiian Punch. That would've been a good idea.
I get dressed in my twining "The Fault In Our Stars" outfit and head downstairs to make coffee. My mom once said ,"Coffee helps with hangovers. That's why you see me with so much on Sundays." Then she laughed at the thought of it. But I did start noticing that she had a good three cups of coffee on Sunday mornings.
When I'm done with my coffee, I head out the door, grabbing the house keys on my way out, and walk to the bus stop. Yeah. Very funny. A seventeen year old girl riding the bus to school. But I chose to ride the bus to school this year because you don't have to pay attention to the rode. All you have to do is find a seat. It was kind of hard in middle school but I did fine. Especially eighth grade when I was the oldest on the bus that age. That was the highlight of middle school.
It takes a good ten minutes before the bus arrives to the stop. It wasn't really a good ten minutes more like a really boring ten minutes. But I did listen to two of my favorite Mariah Carey songs, Without you and Emotions. They're from the 90's but I don't care. They are still too good to hate. Emotions is actually really impressive. Even for Mariah Carey who is in the outstanding level of singers. I don't think that any female singers could beat her. Even Whitney Houston. While some may deny the idea of it, that's my true opinion. So it won't ever change.
On the bus I sit next to a talk well built boy without asking, but he doesn't object. So I don't think to care at all. he doesn't seem to either. He keeps on flicking his eyes towards me and the only reason I can tell is because I look out the fogged up window that just happens to be past his very muscular arm. I mentally thank him for wearing a black muscle shirt.
I decide it's time to make a new friend. Exept a... stronger friendship than that one with Carmen. Ever since Will dumped me, I haven't been in a relationship. I have never been the same and I obviously haven't seen him since what happened with the knife and Tris in the hospital. But I don't let myself cry about Will. I actually think I'm going to ask Tris and Shauna to back make up on an intro for Chorus. Ms. Johanna asked me to preform any song of my choice to the freshmen this year. Like, all of them. She wanted the whole gang to join in so she said to tell her how many people total I'm going to prefom with today ten mintues before we go up. So It would be Tris, Shauna, Carmen, Marlene, Uriah, Me, Zeke, and Four. That would be eight of us total.
"So what's your name?" He asks.
"Christina. What's your's, Mr. Nosy"
"Daniel."
"Well, then hi Daniel. You're new right?"
"Yeah. So I guess you have been at this school for a while if you haven't noticed me? You seem like a very vigilant person, Christina." he says in a very smart-ass way.
"Yeah. My fourth year at the school. Are you a senior?"
"In the flesh."
I think for a moment and relize that someone is shodowing me today and his name is Daniel. Holy crap! The hottie's my shadow!
"I'm pretty sure that you're my shadow for the day. So, if you are, I really hope that we get stuck in one of the same classes if not a lot of them. You seem really interesting."
"Well, yeah, a girl named Christina Cole is the girl I'm shadowing. So if your last name is Cole then we'll be hanging out for the rest of the day."
"Then you my friend, will be following me all stalker-like exept I will know about it." i say in a cheery voice.
We get off the bus with a skip and a hop, not litterally but you get the point, and walk up to the tennis court area.
I get to the area and see Carmen outside on the bench talking to Tris who is sitting on Four's lap in his bulky arms. I want that to be me and Daniel one day. Odds of that is really unlikely but I honestly don't care(see the pun?).
"Nice shirt." Carmen jokes.
"Same with you, smart-ass" I kid.
We both laugh and every one gets it but Daniel. So I say, "It's a refrence from a really good book and movie." He just lets out a small,"Oh", so we just start talking about a whole lot of random crap walking to the music room seeing that we all have that as home room.
Author's note: Hi everyone. All good things must come to an end and so do "watty" deadlines. But there will be a second book about life after high school and college. Bye! I have to go to bed. Long road trip. All rights to Veronica Roth who wrote Divergent and whoever came up with the great idea of "Divergent High" I worked on this for a long time so enjoy! Oh, and the next chapter will be the last one.
