Caitlin watches as the boy walks away, unfortunately, he has a family to go back to but her she has nothing, she's angry at her father. She can't go back to him, won't go back to him.

The man turns back around "it's late your family's probably worried." He spoke, she bowed her head tears falling from her eye it's about six in the morning and all she has is dirty clothes and a dark alley with chewed up bubble gum stuck on the walls to keep her company.

"No, family" she spoke quietly, he walked back to her. Picking up her chin as his fingers lightly brushed the pale skin. "Stay with me then" she stared blankly at the man, she spent about ten hours getting to know this boy and he makes a proposal like that.

"I couldn't," she said backing away from his touch, it was so gentile filled with such care. She could still feel the tingles on her chin as she pulled away. "My father's rarely home and brothers are off to college my mother welcomes stray cats for a living, she wouldn't mind you" he spoke nonchalantly, is he calling her some stray cat?

Her hope was long gone just like her faith had slowly started to go. "That came out wrong, caite. Just say yes, one day? All I'm asking is one day you look tired and your wounds, please" he looked at her as if she were a frail piece of ashes, and was kind enough to sweep it on the tray and into the garbage.

She was damaged yes but that didn't really define what she was. As they reached his place Caitlin was memorized by the huge White House with a dark blue door, the porch also white as they climbed up the steps.

Once Lucas opened the door he called out for his mother, she walked in with an apron "mom" written across it in smudgy handwriting and handprints on it. "Oh lukey, you're home and you brought a girl," she looked at the lady with dirt smeared on her face, legs, and wardrobe. She was pretty sure her stanch could kill an animal within a forty mile radiate.

Lucas brought caite up to the bathroom, laying out clothes and towels. "If you need anything else caite, shout my name" he smiled at her, she didn't wait for luke to exit before pulling up her shirt, her ribs popped out and bruises were left on her precious skin.

"Do they hurt?" He asked calmly, caressing around her bruise that was right above the pants line, "no, not anymore" she told him, he showed himself out, Caitlin stepping into the shower, letting the warm water hit on her skin, scrubbing herself clean.

"I'm just saying you shouldn't bring strangers off the street, she can stay but keep an eye on her luke, she might not be the person you think she is. That's all I'm saying" his mother defended herself stirring the soup in the pot.

Lucas rolled his eyes, hearing footsteps "be nice" he glared at his mother she giggled "lukey I'm always nice" she said pinching his cheeks.

"Hello, sweetheart, stew?" She only nodded her head, Luke looked at her in awe, she looked so small in his baggy clothes. Caite took a quick glance munching on the bread "can you not stare, I'm self-conscious" she spoke looking up at luke swallowing the bread in her mouth.

The blood surfaced to his cheeks, quickly nodding before slurping on the spoon "sorry, you're just so beautiful"
