♡Jordan♡
When the crowd left, including Heidi's group of friends, Jordan went back to his car feeling defeated. Unfortunately, Fredrick received an important phone call that caused him to abandon Jordan for the rest of the evening, to which Jordan was completely fine with because he wanted to just go back to his apartment to rest. And if he somehow found the courage, he would try to call Ava once to speak to her.
♡Ava♡
Ava was now in Joey's place, he had just put coffee into the coffee maker before taking a seat beside her on the couch. "Umm, Joey, do you mind if I use your phone to call home to let my mom know that I'm ok?". Ava asked politely. Joey agreed and handed her the phone that was currently placed in the small table next to the hallway. Afterward, he went into the kitchen to see if there were any snacks. "Hey, mom just letting you know that I'm ok, I'm at Joey's house" Ava informed. Meanwhile, Joey pulled out a small packet of cookies in the kitchen and two mugs from the cabinet. Ava appeared no longer than 4 minutes, Joey slightly jolted when her soft voice spoke. "Thank you". "Oh hey, yeah yeah don't worry about it, how do you like your coffee?"Joey responded. Ava remained silent for a moment, there were only 2 people in her life, who knew how she liked her coffee. Her mother and Jordan of course. "I can prepare it Joey" she answered politely and smiled. "Oh okay, I'm gonna go put these cookies in the living room or would you prefer to stay here?" he said as he picked up his mug and the small plate of chocolate chip cookies. "It's up to you" she responded. "No no it's up to you, and how you feel" Joey assured her. "Oh okay, well I kinda wanna stay here" she admitted as she stirred the sugar in her coffee. "Okay "Joey said with a genuine smile as he took the seat in front of her. Ava continued to stir the coffee. Joey observed her as she nervously placed the spoon on the table and lifted the cup to her lips to take a small sip. Her eyes seemed to wander everywhere, trying to avoid his gaze. "You don't wanna talk about it huh?" he said as he offered her a cookie and she kindly refused it. "It's not easy when you can't even understand it yourself" she responded in a semi-quiet voice. "I'm sorry I'm not grasping anything" Joey responded with empathy in his voice. "It's hard to explain Joey, I thought I was ready for this but I'm starting to question myself" she continued as she shook her head slowly and looked down. "Is this about Jordan?" Joey asked. Ava deliberately raised her head up to look at him, the look in her eyes showed him the response he expected. "Did he do or say something to upset you?" he continued and she could only shake her head. "I'm scared Joey" she feebly spoke. "Of what Ava? you're worrying me" he said in a sweet manner that made her feel comfortable. "Of ruining Jordan, what if I'm wasting his time, ruining his life?" Ava answered. "Wasting his time? Ruining his life? Ava, do you hear yourself? Who told you that" Joey inquired firmly. "Doesn't matter who, she got what she wanted, I'm so - god I can't stand being me, why can't I shut her out" Ava uttered almost angrily but Joey knew that this anger was not directed towards him, it was directed towards herself. "Her?"Joey repeated. "Yeah, you should know who I'm talking about, Jordan must have many of them". "Ava, what's going on with you, you're scared I understand that but have you spoken to J? ". "I can't, I feel like I can't I don't know what to say" she admitted. "Well, I don't know what you can say if you don't tell me exactly what happened" Joey pointed out feeling powerless. "Do you love Jordan? Cause I know he loves you". Ava stayed quiet for a moment, she can't answer that question, because she still didn't know. Joey's eyes slightly widened when she didn't give him a response.

Jordan had just got home, he threw his keys on the kitchen counter before plopping down on the couch. He turned on the tv to see if anything good was on but all that was on his mind was Ava. His heart yearned for her, it felt fragile and he wondered what condition hers was in. Deciding that it was best to just get ready for bed, he jumped into the shower and came out in nothing but gray sweatpants and no shirt since he already had the heater on. After brushing his teeth, Jordan pulled back the covers on his bed and got under them. He debated whether or not calling her was reasonable or if he should give her a peaceful state of mind at least for the night.

"That's the thing, I don't know what love is so I can't define it or even tell if I can recognize such a feeling" she answered monotonously. "Do you care about him?" he questioned as his eyes were deeply fixated on hers. "Of course I do". "Look, I'm not going to make you admit something that you're not ready for, but when you do realize it, it is important that you tell him, show him with actions that you wanna make this work. Relationships are not easy, they're like a bond, Jordan doesn't just let anybody into his life, the way he's done with you, you broke all the barriers to his heart, he's a fragile person, he's a great guy and I'm sure he's going to guide you through this. It's all about communication Ava, that's very important to him, he believes that in order to maintain a healthy relationship, you need to have communication. Trust him, trust yourself, don't let anybody ruin what you guys got". Ava was touched by what Joey just said. "What if he's mad at me for running away?" She said. "He's gonna understand, just talk to him" Joey convinced. "He loves you, cares for you". "Has he ever been hurt in the past?" Ava asked ignoring his last response. "Oh boy, you have no idea, that guy has gone through stuff but that's for him to disclose". "I don't want to hurt him, Joey, I really don't," Ava said and a small tear streamed down her face. "And you won't, I know you won't, don't doubt yourself, whatever it is that's going on, it's not worth this. You can't run away every time you're scared, especially not from Jordan, instead, you should go to him, he'll know what to do, if not he'll ask you how what he can do to make it feel better, one thing for sure is that he won't leave unless he sees that there is no fix". "I've never done this before, I might've overreacted"
♡
Ava decided to give Joey a brief summary of what happened. When she finished, Joey seemed very serious and remained silent for a long while. "No fucking way" he muttered to himself as he shook his head in disbelief. "Yeah, I felt nervous, queasy, I wanted to defend myself but I only tried to hold onto the lie that I and Jordan were nothing, to prevent him any issues but that did nothing, she continued to talk about him like he was a piece of meat and she was the fucking carnivore". "She's sickening, I never liked her, I was celebrating with Jordan when he finally called the shots and ended the whole thing but it looks like she didn't take the hint" he agreed. "Do you have any idea of the consequences, she could be talking about?" Ava asked nervously. "I don't know, the fans know her, well some of them, she might've made a few friends have some connections, but she's crazy to think that threatening you to stay away from J would result in him running back to her". Ava cringed remembering the disturbing conversation that they shared at the pizza parlor. "She was about to make Jordan kiss her cheek, I saw the pain in his eyes when they met with mine". "Well, he was in front of the fans and he didn't want to disappoint them, J adores blockheads, he would never do anything to hurt them or feel like their love isn't acknowledged" Joey explained. "His fans come first, I always understood that I would never take that away from him" she answered. "You're so comprehensive, this is why I can see you guys getting married one day, you understand him, you see him as a person, that's all he could ever ask for, that's all anybody could ever ask for". " You're absolutely right Joey" Ava agreed and she stood up from her seat to walk over and give him a quick hug. "Thank you for everything, you're truly the best" she added and he chuckled. "I only wanna see both of my friends happy that's all".
After about 20 more minutes of random chatter, Ava asked Joey if he could drive her home and he happily agreed.
♡
When Joey pulled up into her driveway, she gave him one last hug and stepped out of the car. Joey made sure to drive away once he knew that she was safe inside the comfort of her own home. Ava went directly to her room to get ready for bed. After slipping into her warm baby pink fleece set, she climbed into bed and reached for the phone. Without thinking too much, she dialed Jordan and hoped that he'd answer. It took about 2 rings before he answered. " Hello Ava?". " Jordan, h-hi, I just wanted to tell you that I'm at home safe and sound, just in case you were worried" she said, meanwhile her heart was beating a thousand miles per minute or something like that. " Thank you for letting me know, I'm home too " he answered not really know his boundaries at the moment. "I'm sorry I'll let you sleep now" she responded all of a sudden feeling awkward. "We're gonna fix this okay? Goodnight baby" he said sweetly before hanging up. He didn't even question her, or confront her to scold her to scaring him. And with that familiar pet name, Ava too drifted off to sleep, knowing that Jordan was willing to put up a fight against the doubts that swam in her mind. Joey was right. It's late . I'm going to sleep now! . Another chapter will hopefully be posted today ♡
