Ava decided to take a quick shower and then slip into something comfortable to meet Jordan. She was very nervous, to say the least about his sudden change of behavior on the phone. When she felt content with her appearance, she sat on the couch downstairs until the familiar vehicle pulled up in the driveway. Her heart pounded hard in her chest when she heard a knock at the door. Looking through the peephole, she immediately swung it open, revealing her beloved beau. He had a longing in his eyes. "Baby" he whispered before pulling her in for a warm embrace. There was something about this particular hug that made Ava understand that he needed this. Possibly the way his face was snuggled in the crook of her neck, his breath warm and his lips being supple, brushed against her skin making tiny butterflies erupt inside her stomach. Ava squeezed tighter to show him that she was there, even tenderly rubbing his back as he held onto her. Her freshly washed hair radiated a soft vanilla mixed with coconut scent that calmed his senses. Something about her brought him such comfort that not even going to his favorite childhood spot could accomplish. When he pulled away, she reached to caress his face, staring lovingly into his eyes. Jordan couldn't help but pull her in, kissing her deeply. He rested their foreheads together and Ava smiled in contentment.

"Are you alright?" Ava asked as she buckled her seatbelt. "I am now" Jordan answered sweetly as he leaned in to peck her on the cheek. Ava blushed and reached for his hand that was currently resting on her lap to rub soft circles with her thumb. Jordan felt like he was turning into putty, she was like pure honey. Too sweet with him, as here he was feeling like a schoolboy who finally got their crush. "You're gonna drive me crazy you know that?" he said and Ava groaned at his lame pun. "And you say I kill the mood" she snickered making him chuckle.

"Wow, we're kids again" Ava gushed as she stepped out of the car. Jordan had driven them to the park that she didn't even know existed yet. "Yup, c'mon let's go on the swings" he suggested as she happily took his hand and walked towards the empty set of swings. There were not many people in the park, due to the cold weather and the high chance that the kids in the neighborhood were at school. They both sat on the swings and just sat there for a while. Ava was too busy contemplating the sky, not even noticing that Jordan was staring at her. "So, what's up?" she asked, without warning catching him in the act. Jordan felt his face heat up from slight embarrassment. 'Gosh, why am I so nervous today?' he asked himself. "Jordan?" she spoke trying to get his attention. "Sorry" he said. "What's wrong? You can tell me anything" she assured him as her eyes softened. "I know, I-I'm just scared" he stammered as he fiddled with the strings on his hoodie. "Of what?, You already told me about your past" she recalled in a gentle voice. "I know, but-" he tried to speak again but couldn't quite find the words that he was looking for. "I just saw her" he admitted and Ava's eyes widened, her lips formed into a tight line. " Oh, where? If that's not too much to ask for" she said not really trusting her response. "She came to my place" he said in barely a whispered but she understood clearly. "Oh". Ava began to throw her legs back and forth causing her to slightly swing. "I was surprised, I didn't expect her to just visit me" he tried explaining himself. "How uhh did she know where you lived?" She questioned him and noticed a small hint of guilt in his eyes that made her realize that she was not going to like his response. "Never mind, don't answer that" she pleaded weakly. "I just felt like I needed to tell you" he responded feeling his heart clench. Negative thoughts washed over Ava's mind and Jordan noticed this. "oh no no no baby " he said desperately trying to explain himself again. "Nothing happened, I promise... I swear ".
She remained silent, scared of the words that could fall from her mouth. "Baby please talk to me please" he begged as he tried for her hand but she made no effort to let him hold it. "Sorry, I didn't mean to make you think that" she spoke with caution. "I know but I had to say it just in case" he answered with guilt pooling his eyes. "Jordan, I would never accuse you of cheating, I'm sorry it's just my thoughts sometimes get the best of me". " Do you trust me?" He asked as he held onto the silver chain connected to the swing and looking deeply into her amber eyes. Her eyes beamed a brighter hint of yellow that indicated anger or feelings of some sort. "I do" she said while nodding. She closed her eyes trying to maintain her composure. Jordan watched cautiously, trying to read her actions. "I-I don't want to seem clingy or controlling, but I'm not going to lie and say it doesn't bother me that she was part of your past, and from the looks of it, is now part of your present". Jordan felt like his heart dropped and disappeared. Ava was right, Heidi was forcing her way back into his life again.
His eyes beamed so much loathing that Ava could tell his encounter with Heidi wasn't just surprising or uninviting. " Well, what did she tell you?" Ava questioned as she stopped swinging her legs altogether to give him her undivided attention. "Nothin really, she just talked to me like I was an object " he said and Ava's eyebrows furrowed. " An object?" She repeated. " A sex object" he clarified. "I'm sorry I don't understand" she admitted nearly ashamed. Jordan let out a soft breath and smiled. His sweetheart was too pure to understand this. That's why sometimes he feels guilty for having her by his side. " oh baby" says as he lovingly combs her hair with one of his hands. " Oh wait, don't tell me, I think I have an idea" she says and crunches her nose in disgust. "Yeah, it's not so nice to be spoken to like that" he agreed. "I've heard that type of vulgarity from a guy" she continued. "It can go both ways".
"She talked about me like I was property or something " he said and Ava now held onto the silver chain that beside Jordan. Pulling it slightly to give him a kiss on the cheek. "Don't listen to her, you belong to you, what you share is up to you, nobody should make you feel like that Jordan". She tried convincing him."I get that I was doing things, which I plan to withhold from my loved ones for as long as I can, but people make mistakes, now I have to pay the consequences" he vented as he shook his head. "No you don't, this is a road block, you've got me , I won't let you give into the past, I'm here now" she comforted him. Jordan looked at her, tears threatened to spill from his eyes. "This is why I'm in love with you, you see me as Jordan, not Jordan Knight, the sex god onstage " he recalls, whilst Ava nods. "God, Ava you're too sweet, so pure, and I'm- I-m " He stammered trying to catch his breath to find the next words. " An amazing guy with raw feelings and mistakes that humans like himself are bound to commit" she finished his sentence. "Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve you" he continues as his bottom lip quivered. " No baby, don't say that. Okay?" She said as she got off the swing and stood in between his legs.
" I trust you, I care for you, you're worth more than the mistakes you've made. Don't see yourself through her eyes or anybody's eyes for the matter, if you stood in my shoes, you'd see yourself the way I see you. You're a dream come true. As cliche as that sounds, I fucking mean it" she spoke and leaned her forehead against his own. One of her hands rested in the back of his head, gently tugging his hair and the other caressed his face, tracing her thumb on across his cheekbone.Below her, Jordan had his eyes fixated on her lips, not being able to resist, he crashed his lips into them. Urging her to join him on the swing, by helping her climb onto his lap and wrap her legs around his torso. She kissed him the way he kissed her when she needed to feel the ground beneath her disappear. With so much longing and tenderness. Jordan was quite the teacher, in giving lessons of love and whatnot. His arms secured around her in a way that gave her the impression that he was afraid she'd pull away. With her lips molded so perfectly into his, he felt all his troubles and worries washing away. She was becoming his medicine, his cure. The honey in his tea, that had the sole purpose to make it sweeter.Make his life sweeter, softer ,irreproachable, steady and more importantly, with love . He grew tired of the random hookups and wanted to just settle down with somebody like Ava. Jordan needed this, he needed her, to keep assuring him that they can make it through anything and anyone. Even the ghosts from his past that refuse to put themselves to rest.
Undeniably, she was his calm after the storm.
Ava is so sweet wow.❣️
