Chapter 6

Barry eventually coaxed Y/N back to S.T.A.R. Labs, he had dreamed of this moment, of getting to see Y/N again for so long, and now his dream was becoming a reality.

Y/N sat and waited patiently in the med bay, now in a pair of S.T.A.R. Lab's sweats. Meanwhile Caitlin and Julian ran several tests, they were still baffled at how Y/N managed to pull through and recover so quickly the way that she did. Barry sat with Y/N, her head leaning against his shoulder as they sat beside each other.

The team had left them alone in the med bay while they waited for some test results, they all knew that Y/N and Barry needed some time to reconnect.

Barry wrapped his arm around Y/N and pulled her rings out of his pocket. "I thought you might want these back," he said as he slid her wedding and Flash ring onto her fingers.

Y/N smiled, "Thank you for holding onto them for me," she said looking at up him, happy to finally meet his warm eyes again, something that she had missed.

Y/N had noticed how a few things changed around the Cortex and the lab. That's when Y/N came to a shocking conclusion, "How long?" she spoke up.

"Hmm?" Barry hummed, being pulled from his thoughts. "What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean," Y/N said looking up at him. "How long was I gone?" she asked again, meeting his worried eyes. Barry sighed, looking down slightly. Y/N reached over and held his hand in her own, "You can tell me, Barr."

Barry nodded slowly, "Six months," he finally told her.

Y/N didn't know what to think, or what to do...six months. There were six months where she left, she was gone, Barry was alone, and she couldn't help but blame herself for that. Y/N now knew why Barry had been so happy to see her, why he looked so broken...he had spent six months in hell not knowing if she was coming back...but still, he never lost hope, he never gave up on her.

Barry saw Y/N racing through her thoughts, he couldn't stand to watch anymore. "It's okay, you're back now, and that is what matters," he told her as he hugged her tightly. "You came back to me."

"Didn't you ever doubt I would?" Y/N asked, pulling back slightly and looking up at Barry.

He shook his head, "Never, it was hard, there were times that were harder than others. But I always had this feeling that you were out there," he told her.

Caitlin then knocked on the door before entering, Julian just behind her. "How are you feeling?" she asked Y/N, pulling her away from her thoughts and Barry.

Y/N turned to face Caitlin, "Good, a little tired, but good for the most part," Y/N replied.

Julian nodded, "I'm sure coming back from merging with the speed force is no easy task," he added. "All of your tests came back normal, you are good to go home and get some much-needed rest," he explained.

Y/N nodded, "Thank you," she told both Julian and Caitlin. "For everything."

"Don't thank us," Caitlin replied. "You would have done the same."

Y/N smiled, hugging them both before walking into the Cortex with Barry. Cisco ran forward and hugged Y/N tightly, happy to see his friend again.

"You're back," Cisco smiled.

Y/N smirked, "Yeah, thanks to you," she said as Cisco released her from his arms. Y/N looked up and saw Harry staring back at her.

"It's good to have you back," Harry told Y/N. "We missed you."

Joe smiled, hugging Y/N as well, "I couldn't have said it better myself."

"It's good to be back," Y/N told the whole team. "I missed all of you too."

"You should go home, relax, get some rest," Harry told her.

Barry nodded in agreement, "Yeah," he said wrapping an arm around Y/N. "Let's go home," he said leading Y/N towards the door.

Y/N leaned her head against Barry as they walked down the hall towards the elevator. "I love you," she murmured softly.

Barry smiled slightly as he looked down at Y/N, "I know, and I love you too," he said kissing the top of her head.

Y/N shifted in front of Barry once they were in the elevator before she reached up and captured his lips in a sweet kiss. "I just wanted you to know that," she explained.

Barry smiled into another kiss as he held Y/N close to him, his arms wrapping around her. "I've always known that I love you, and you love me...that's all I really need," he told her.
