Weeks later, Team Flash was back and running with flying colors, or in this case, speeding colors. Y/N had been busy evacuating a burning building downtown when Barry arrived to help her. The two finished in record time.
Y/N smiled as she walked over to Barry and high fived him, "I think you and I are pretty good at this hero thing," she mentioned.
Barry shrugged, "I'm pretty good at it, you're about average," he teased.
Y/N pretended to be hurt, "Well this average hero is about to beat you back to the lab," she told him before speeding off.
Barry smirked before he sped after Y/N, leaving skid marks in his path.
Y/N made it to the Cortex first, smiling as she took off her mask, coming to a halt, "I win," she smiled.
Barry had been just behind her, but still, Y/N did in fact beat him. Barry shook his head playfully at Y/N as he took off his mask, "It wasn't fair, you had a head start," he reminded Y/N.
Y/N shrugged as she wrapped her arms around his neck, a smile shining brightly on her face, "I still won, you never said that there were rules."
Barry nodded, "And here's your prize," he said leaning in and kissing her softly, his arm snaking around her waist.
Y/N pulled back reluctantly and was surprised to see Cisco sitting at his desk at the front of the Cortex watching the pair.
"Cisco," Y/N spoke, tearing him from his thoughts. "How long have you been there?" she wondered.
Cisco shrugged, "Not long," he answered.
"What are you doing?" Barry asked with a smirk on his lips.
"Just admiring my work," Cisco said leaning back in his chair in a proud manner. "I mean I got you two together and you're still in love, all these years later. I'm really good at this whole matchmaking thing," he bragged.
Y/N let out a soft laugh, "Okay, Cisco, but when was the last time you had a girlfriend?" she asked, brows raised.
Cisco frowned, clearly broken out of his happy trance, "I've gone on dates, people just can't handle all of this," he said gesturing to himself.
Barry leaned forward, "Do you want to get out of here?" he whispered in Y/N's ear.
Y/N nodded slightly before they both sped away. Cisco sighed contently, leaning back in his chair again, "Man I'm good," he told himself.
————————
The next day, Barry was busy at the station, meanwhile, Y/N was busy running around Central City stopping crime left and right, though she did decide to take a break after a few hours.
Though Y/N's version of a break was going to go see Barry at the station.
Y/N sped into Barry's lab and smiled when she saw him, "Hey," she greeted as she took a seat beside him.
"Hey," Barry replied, kissing her cheek before he returned his attention to the stack of paperwork in front of him. "I thought you were busy flashing around town?"
Y/N shook her head, "I was, but I decided to take a break and come see you," she told him.
Barry smiled, turning to meet her eyes, "Good, because I could use a break too," he sighed.
"What is all of this?" Y/N asked, gesturing to the rather large stack of papers Barry had to deal with.
"This is everything I can find on Zoom, as well as a few ideas on how to find him," Barry explained, sounding exhausted.
Y/N rubbed his back in an effort to soothe him, "Do you have any active cases?" she asked.
Barry nodded, "Yeah, just a few at the moment, but they're nothing too major," he answered.
Y/N stood up, pulling Barry up with her, "Then you have time to go out for lunch with your wife," she told him.
Barry smiled, "That sounds nice," he admitted.
Y/N nodded, "You have been working hard all morning, it's time for you to take a break."
Barry happily agreed as he and Y/N left the station. They returned just over an hour later hand in hand. Barry sighed as he realized that he had to return to his work.
Y/N smirked when Barry began dragging his feet as he walked back to his desk. He sat down and slowly pulled out several case files.
She walked over to him and put her hands on his shoulders from behind before gently massaging his tense muscles.
Barry hummed, "I could get use to this," he mentioned.
Y/N let out a soft laugh, "Don't forget you have cases to solve," she reminded him as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders from behind and rested her chin on his shoulder.
Barry leaned his head gently back against Y/N, "I know, but spending time with you is just so much better than working," he admitted.
Y/N kissed his cheek, "And what would you do if I wasn't here?" she asked.
"God, I never want to find out," Barry replied as he turned his head and put his hand under Y/N's chin, softly tugging her forward for a kiss.
Y/N smiled as Barry pressed his lips against hers. She reluctantly pulled back, "Get to work," she told him softly.
Barry nodded slowly, "Yeah, I know."
"Yeah, I'd really appreciate if he got back to work too," Julian mentioned as he stood at the doorway of Barry's lab.
Y/N smirked as she stepped away and put on her jacket. "Okay," she started. "Message received Julian, I'll see you at home, Barr."
Barry nodded, flashing Y/N his signature smile before she left. Barry continued in his attempt to track Zoom once Y/N was gone, he spent hours trying to find a new lead, but it was useless.
The hunt for Zoom had come to a screeching halt. The team was unsure of what to do next, their idea of tracking Zoom hadn't worked, and none of their other ideas had worked either.
The team had lost hope on finding Zoom, though Y/N thought that maybe not finding him was good, that maybe the fact that he was gone was a good thing.
However, Barry had different thoughts, he thought Zoom was in hiding, more than likely planning something...
