Chapter 9

Snake's POV:

It was night already and I went outside for a smoke. A lot has happened and my men are scared of Aran. She hurt three people, but I believe her, she was defending herself from bullies. The others just want her away, but as their Boss I say to leave her alone. She was pretty hurt and upset, she trusts me, more than Ocelot and I trust her too.

Outside I spotted Samus standing at the edge of the platform, she was calm and looks sad. I got close to her, at first I thought she was going to jump.

Snake: Aran, are you alright? You should be in bed.

Samus: I'm fine...I'm more than fine...you don't have to bother worrying.

Snake: what's wrong? Is it about what happened?

She turned around and faced me,  she clenched her fist as she shivered in pain. She was standing without her prosthetic.

Samus: No...it's about your men. Your Kaz, everybody hates me here. I don't belong here!

Snake: What are you talking about what did he say? I don't hate you. Ocelot doesn't think that.

Samus: I should just leave! It's a mistake staying her. The bigger mistake is that I trusted you! You protect me but you protect them instead! You people cannot be trusted!

She starts walking away grunting, I knew Kaz said something to her. I grabbed her and placed my hands around her waist. Her face inches from mine, she blushes, using me as support. Our eyes locked on each other.

Samus' POV:

Samus: I'm sorry...I'm just...angry. I don't mean to hate you. I don't it's just...maybe you are better off without me Boss.

I looked down upset but then I felt Snake pressing himself against me, I don't move. He lifted my chin up to meet his gaze, his hand stroked my cheek. What was he doing?

Snake: Please...stay...

We heard an explosion coming from their lab, followed by a shriek and screams. Snake picked me up and carried me to the spot, unaware of what we were gonna face. There we saw a big Metroid, oh no, they followed me. Snake's men shooting at it and some dying because of it. He put me down and shot the Metroid but seemed that their weapons were useless against it.

Snake: Stay here and don't move. We will handle it.

Samus: You can't kill it like that! It's too strong for you. I need Varia!

Snake runs to the Metroid and with Ocelot and find ways to kill. Guns, explosives, anything. It was damaging the base, I need to find Varia. I manage to quickly run to R&B where Emmerich has my suit. My leg hurt like hell, I ended up crawling there, I was so hurt. It took a few good minutes to get in. Emmerich was hiding, he wasn't a fighter, I can't say he was cowering.

Samus: I need my suit. Please! It's the only way I can stop this.

Emmerich: it's not ready yet! It's still needs some adjustments.

Samus: Fix it quickly or we will all die!!

We suddenly hear a bang coming from the walls. We froze. Then another bang, the Metroid was looking for me. It wanted me, not the others. I helped Huey with my suit, as fast as I could. The walls were breaking, we were running out of time. Fuck it, I pushed Emmerich and began to wear my suit, how I missed it. The Metroid was right in front of me when I had my suit on. I used my blaster and shot at it, it flew away...time to play.

Snake's POV:

We heard a strange gunshot, followed by the alien's shriek. What just happened...? We stopped by just to look at the big hole at Huey's place, and saw a silhouette of a man coming out. Wait.... That's... That was Aran, it's Samus wearing the suit. How did she get there? We all stood and watched as she was morphing into a ball and electrified the alien above her. She was as quick as lighting and agile, the alien couldn't touch her, she was experienced. The monster was weakening, her weapons work against them. She let out one of her bombs and made the alien explode all over the platform. She stood on some of it and shot twice.

Finally she looked at us, and kneeled, she was weak. I got to her before she would faint. I helped her get her mask off, damn she was heavy. She stared right into my eye.

Kaz's POV:

That woman saved us...she helped me find cover. I guess I was wrong, maybe I'm not. I still don't trust her but the way she and Boss look at each other. I never seen Snake so...himself, he's actually caring for an alien woman, a foreign being who doesn't know anything about us. The woman smiles at the boss.

Samus; With your permission Big Boss,I would like to stay. And be a soldier.

Snake: men! From now on, Aran is not a foreigner nor prisoner. From now on, she is one of us! She is a Diamond Dog! Welcome aboard soldier.

Snake helped her up and carried her to her room, Quiet watching on top of the roofs. She seems upset, like me she doesn't trust Samus either. Whatever happened today, will be remembered in our days to come.
