Chapter 7

Weeks later

Snake's POV:

It's been a while ever since Aran crashed. She hasn't been much of a threat, but she has been threatened a lot. She must defend herself from those who want to hurt her. It's why we allowed her to have her gun, strange to see such weapon. With her arm recovered she is able to aim and shoot. We gave her a wheelchair and some dummies for her to practice with. Nothing else has happened, no sign of Eli or any activity from the man on fire... I mean Volgen.

After I arrived at Mother Base, Ocelot took me to Emmerich's lab. Said he has something important. There Emmerich shows us a prosthetic, not a leg but support like his. Only that it's more advanced.

Emmerich: It's for that woman you brought in, for her injured leg. Once it's back in place she could use it to walk properly.

We can't thank him enough, he's changed and we trust him. We take the machine to Samus, who was resting at her cell. We decided to take her to a different place a room maybe and tomorrow we put her the device. She woke up when we arrived to her cell, her hair covering her face. She managed to sit up, it's good that she's ok. We open her cell and help her sit on her wheelchair. She likes to wake early and see the sun rise. We wait for her to fix her hair, it's the first time she does every morning.

Samus' POV:

As I fix my hair I can't help but see both Snake and Ocelot, they were staring at me, I stared back. Were they just watching over me or something else? Every morning they brought different kinds of strange meals, either way they are good. Minutes later when I finish, Snake took me close to the water. I felt the breeze  and saw the sun come up, it's breathtaking to see the horizon, no other islands like this one on sight. He lets me watch the view for a few minutes, he shares the same like. Snake always stays by my side, admiring what I admire. But every time I see the sun come I get the feeling the girl Quiet looks at us, she's one of the first, besides Kazuhira, who never trusted me all these weeks. Finally Snake pushed me around Mother Base, as they call it, took me to combat platform so I can show him my paralyzer, the only gun that made it besides the suit. 

Once there, him and Ocelot helped me up, holding me still. Ocelot gives me my gun and with my good arm I lash it, destroying it instantly. Other targets appear, I shoot them quick, I wish I could move and kick them. Ocelot got a call from someone by the name of Huey that a device was ready. I did not know what they mean.

Snake: Go back to the chair, we have something for you. 

I nodded and sat as they took me to R&B.

Ocelot's POV:

This woman kept surprising us with her techniques and weapons, maybe she can show us more about her world and know about the aliens we might face. And I thought aliens were fictional things straight from Hollywood. 

We took Samus to Huey, he had the prosthetic leg ready which I thought it was too fast. It was the first time these two met. Samus took the doctor well.

Emmerich: Nice to meet you Samus. I heard a lot about you. I'm Huey, I made this support for you so you can walk.

Samus: For me? I thought everybody didn't trust me. But..Thank...

She stopped talking when she set her eyes on her suit, she got scared and happy at the same time that it was still in one piece, only that it was scratched and some parts were missing. She tried to get up but she fell and crawled to her suit. Snake stopped and held her. She was angry, she curses. 

Snake: Hey Hey! Calm down Aran! It's alright, we haven't touch it!

Samus: Whoever did this to us will pay! I swear it! The pirates! The metroids! Any!

Boss placed her back to her chair and held her still as I helped Huey with the device, he wrapped around Samus' waist first. Secondly made a testing through a control, Samus didn't approve of that. She then moved the leg herself, her expression changed. She was happy.
