Chapter 19

Snake's POV:

She seemed so concerned, so scared, but she let go as soon as she remembered everything that's happened. She held my hand tightly when I told her what happened to me...the night on the hospital, the man on fire. Once at Volgen's cage, Ocelot and Quiet made sure there were no means of escape. Samus however circled him to get a good look at the monster before her, Volgen traced her every move I was almost jealous for I felt a hint of desire.

Samus' POV:

I had my hand placed on my gun just in case the man would do anything, I would've been much better if Emmerich would hurry with Varia. Modifications were to be made so the metal won't hurt my skin...the parasite's. It...I mean...he didn't speak, he just kept staring at me, at Snake. How could we make sure we could trust him like that.

Snake: How is it you became...this...what were your plans...I thought I killed you.

Volgen didn't speak, he just kept watching. I felt an urge to beat the crap out of him, to get something out. I couldn't hold, and by containing such Quiet aimed her sniper rifle at me so I see the dot and...saw myself invisible, I was camouflaging, like her! Snake saw where the laser was going and he looked shocked. My new abilities were growing. I took the liberty of sneaking inside Volgen's cage and beat him up. Kicking and punching him so he would try to make something. He attempted to hit me but I was to quick. I admit I was having a good moment trying to prove myself that I wasn't weak.

I got careless at some point because he just took my fists and stopped me. He didn't attack and I just stopped. We waited for an action, anything, I just hoped he wouldn't go on fire and hurt me.

Snake's POV:

"Child....Mantis" that is what he said after. Who was he talking about? I remembered the child that used to hung around him when he would chase me. The boy with a gas mask. Maybe he was asking about his whereabouts, it's been years. Samus did her best to retreat, I could see fear in her eyes. Why was she afraid, I thought to myself. I could see her body changing from visible to invisible as she was lost in her thoughts.

I called out her name so she could wake up, as she did she hugged me and I hugged her back. Whatever Volgen was talking about, I was to make sure he stays where he was, locked away from society, with the necessary needs of course. Samus tugged on my uniform and I could see she was trying to tell me something, opening and closing her mouth and making a chewing gesture. She was hungry? Perhaps we were mistaken she was like Quiet, we forgot she's from another world and has different gifts mixed with her new ones.

Ocelot's POV:

Those two were like PB&J, looking good together and never apart. I could see Big Boss was complete and willing to make more efforts to maybe unite people like Aran from space and like us from earth, joining forces against the bad in both our worlds. It's good the kid trusts us, she's been through a lot and belongs here in the Diamond Dog family. A rare jewel needed for this Base.

Ocelot: I'll get her something to bite on. Aran please, if you please, follow me.

She didn't even protested, just nodded  and stole a kiss from the Boss, she joined me on a walk to the cafeteria. I wanted to make a confession.

Ocelot: Kid, you really changed something in this Base. You brought some peace and comfort to us all, especially the boss. I just wanna say you have my full support on everything, one heck of a soldier.

She smiled at me and nodded again, I could understand she was saying she's grateful and thanked me for giving my trust since the beginning. Well we are damn lucky to have more members to help us. But tranquility was gone once a punch landed on Samus from one of our big guys, she kneeled just when Kaz gave an order to the guy to do it again

Ocelot: Miller, what the hell?!! What is this???

Kaz: She should not be trusted! I keep telling you! But now I must take it to another level Oce! Beat her up! Break every bone in her body!

He said when our soldier was making Samus bleed with kicks and punches to the face and stomach. As he was about to deliver her a fist, Samus immediately stopped it and looked at him with a menacing look I didn't expect to find. If she is a soldier from space, I couldn't imagine the type of training she got...against humans.
