Peter nearly jumped into the ceiling when he woke up on Friday, his 16th birthday. A massive smile was stretched across his face. He skipped over to his bathroom to get ready, chucking on a pair of jeans and a sweater. He brushed his teeth and tried to tame his hair to the best of his ability.

'I hope that they didn't spend much on me,' Peter thought as he walked into the kitchen. He smiled at everyone and they waved back.

"Mornin' Pete," Steve greeted from the kitchen.

"Yeah, morning, kid," Tony said, not looking up from his Stark tablet.

The others greeted Peter and Natasha moved over so Peter could sit next to her at the table. Steve served up scrambled eggs and bacon and everyone dug in.

"So, are we doing anything today?" Peter spoke up halfway through breakfast.

"No, I don't think so," Natasha said and then looked up. "FRIDAY, have we scheduled anything for today?"

"Nothing has been scheduled today," FRIDAY answered. "However, it is Pet-" She was cut off by Tony. They hadn't even heard her speak after her first statement.

"Were doing nothing."

This made Peter look down with a frown.

"Oh," He mumbled and abruptly stood up. He walked out of the room with a quick 'Bye' and left, making sure to grab his backpack on the way out. The Avengers looked curiously around at each other and shrugged.

Peter stood in the elevator and sniffed. He quickly bought his sleeve up to his eyes and wiped the tears away. This was his first birthday without May and they didn't even remember it.

'May would've remembered,' He cried to himself. 'She would have woken me up with breakfast in bed and given me a small present. Something that she could afford like some new t-shirts or pants and I wouldn't mind that it wasn't something big like a phone because it was perfect'.

"Happy birthday, Peter," FRIDAY interrupted his thoughts. "I hope you have an amazing day."

"Thanks, FRI," Peter smiled.

"Happy birthday, Peter!" Ned cheered as his friend walked over to him and MJ.

"Hey, loser, happy birthday," MJ greeted Peter.

"Thanks, guys," Peter smiled sadly. This didn't go unnoticed by his friends so they tried to lighten the mood.

"My mum made you a cake if you want to come over after school and she got me a new Lego Star Wars kit for us to do as well," Ned told Peter. "MJ is coming over too and we can have our own party for you."

Peter had long forgotten about the Avengers by now. He was excited that his friends remembered his birthday. Ned's mother was an awesome woman and had made Peter's birthday cake every year. He, Ned, May, Mrs Leeds and recently MJ would have a small celebration at Ned's house. May and Peter would do the same for Ned on his birthday.

He shot Tony a quick text saying that he would be staying at Ned's that night.

Peter stalked into the tower at 10 am the next day. All the Avengers were sitting on the couch watching the morning news with their cups of coffee. He sat between Tony and Steve. It was quiet for a few minutes.

"What did you do last night, Pete? Did you have fun with your friends?" Steve questioned.

"Yeah, I had a lot of fun," Peter stood up in excitement as he told them what he did with Ned and MJ. "I stayed at Ned's with Ned and MJ. Ned and I built his new Lego set and MJ gave me a book." He had to stop to catch his breath.

"After that, Mrs Leeds called us to dinner and then she bought out a cake and they sang happy birthday to me. Then we hung out some more," He finished his story.

"Hold up, kid. They sang happy birthday to you?" Tony spoke up in shock. Peter nodded and then slapped a hand over his mouth. "Oh my god, kid. I'm so sorry." Tony stood up and hugged Peter tightly. The others also joined in the hug with murmurs of 'I'm sorry'.

"Happy birthday, Peter," They all exclaimed at once.
