Bittersweet

Imbis na tumigil si Lyian ay lalo pa nyang pinag-igihan ang pagbibigay kay Jaze. Araw araw nya itong bibibigyan ng brownies. Palagi nya itong sinusundan kahit na halata namang iniiwasan sya nito.

Like now.

"Hi!" bati ni Lyian na hindi pinansin ni Jaze. "Did you like the brownies?" ngiti nito.

Ni hindi nya nga ginalaw yung mga box nung brownies eh. It all piled up in the Music Room. Dahil nanghinayang ang mga kamember nya ay ito ang kumain. And seeing his members enjoying each bite tempted him but he resisted. At ngayon, palagi tuloy silang nakatambay sa may pinto ng Music Room para abangan yung brownies. Lunatics.

Binilisan pa ni Jaze ang paglalakad, ganon rin ang ginawa ni Lyian. Halos magkanda dapa sya dahil nakaheels sya but she still tried to keep up.

"Ma—" naputol ang sasabihin nya nang mapatid sya.

Buti na lamang ay nahawakan ni Jaze ang braso nya kaya hindi sya natumba.

Napatitig sila sa mata ng isa't isa.

Lyian stared it Jaze's oak colored eyes that when the sunlight touches it, it melts into golden rays.

While Jaze got hypnotized by Lyian's baby blue orbs. It was like pristine waters of the Pacific, clear and calming.

Damn, her eyes are beautiful.

Wait... what?

Natauhan lang sya nang ngumiti si Lyian sa kanya. Agad nyang binitawan ito. He cleared his throat and proceeded.

Napangiti si Lyian dahil dito. That simple eye contact surely made her day.

Jaze's mind flew to the gutter dahil sa nangyari kanina. He still can't get his head off her eyes. It was so comfortable... and familiar.

"Hey, are you listening?" agaw ni Idika sa atensyon nya.

"Uhm. Ano ulit yon?" tanong ni Jaze.

It's like Lyian's eyes sucked his mind to oblivion.

"I said I'll be going to Prague next week for my internship."

Already?

Nasa dulo library sila ngayon kung saan sila nakita ni Lyian. It was their special spot. Nobody ever comes there. At sa laki ng library ay madalas hanggang gitna lang ang mga estudyante.

He's been dreading the day of Idika's internship ever since she told him about it. He was so sure that he'll miss her badly even if it's just for a month. It would be a long month. September na ngayon at sa katapusan pa ng October ang balik nito.

He didn't want her to leave.

"You won't be here for my birthday," his forehead creased.

"I know, I'm sorry," she gave a sad smile and reached for the hair covering his forehead, "Babawi ako, okay?"

"Id. What are we?"

He's been dying to know the answer. This no label thing is driving him insane. Not to mention this never-ending game of hide and seek.

"Now is not the time to answer that question."

"Then when?!" Pareho silang nagulat sa pagtaas ng boses nya so he apologized immediately.

"I just... I'll miss you, Id. A lot." sabi ni Jaze then pulled Idika for a hug.

"Me too." Idika hugged back. "Now go. Before somebody sees us."
