Agenda 46

Lessons Unlearned

Nagsitaasan ang mga balahibo nila. Their eyes quivered with horror in the moonlight as their visions were stuck at the masked man that stood before them. They couldn't scream, cry or even make a move.

The man stood with a sinister grin as if he's the devil himself. His mask covered the right side of his face yet they can still see the scar trailing down his neck.

Napayakap sila sa isa't isa when the man shot the ground just inches away from their feet.

The girls started to cry while the boys tried to cover for them while holding back their tears.

The man laughed. Hard. Even throwing his head back in doing so. The sound of his laughter intensified the fear they are feeling. It is without humor. Just sinister, like the man himself.

--

Stupid.

So stupid.

Lyian started to wiped the tears streaming down her face.

She's still shaking so bad and all she can do is to cry in silence. It's not his fault, she knows that.

He's clearly in love with someone else. Narealize nya iyon dahil sa narinig nya noon sa library. His voice gave it away. He was so gentle and sweet but with her, it's the opposite. Sa kanya ay cold lang lagi ito.

He only gives one line answers. He always shows that he's not interested in her. Na kahit anong pilit nya ay hindi sya nito pagtutuonan ng pansin because he already belongs to someone else.

But his eyes tell her otherwise. That made her so confused.

So confused that she kept going back for answers.

When she catches him off guard nagkakaroon sya ng pag-asa. When he looks at her, it's different. His actions push her away yet his eyes always pull her back.

But those little times she treasured where he showed emotion to her meant nothing to him.

Those small talks. The time they spent with Blaze. That time he took her to class. The time he said thank you.

That first kiss.

Nothing. It all meant nothing.

That's it, Lyianna, you don't always get what you want. God, Yvo's gonna end me.

Lyian wiped her tears and smiled bitterly. You don't always get what you want. She doesn't want to believe that. She refuses to.

What Lyianna Ingrid wants, Lyianna Ingrid gets. Her Mom instilled that to her brain and she lived by that.

Fishing her phone from her pocket, she looked at her reflection. Red eyes. Puffy face. God, I look like a mess.

Pathetic. You've become pathetic, Lyianna, and that's not you.
