Boy Splash?

Marie laughed outright, "Mermaids don't exist," the man in the water lifted a fishy tail up and with a couple strong strokes propelled himself up onto the rock that Marie had dove off of to rescue Jamie, "is what we're taught..."

The man's tail was a shiney green that matched his eyes and had a strong muscled abdomen, presumably from the demands of the swimming. He watched the woman watch his tail. He flicked it and she jumped a bit and he laughed, this woman was amusing. She stood and put her hands on her hips, "Well Mr. Merman what exactly is going on, care to explain?"

He rose an eyebrow and looked to Jamie, "This kid was supposed to be thrown to the sea and join me yesterday as I took him to the village of mermen."

It was the woman's turn to raise a perfect eyebrow, "Mermen?"

He nodded and looked her in the eyes as if to challenge her, "The mermaids have been thought to nearly be extinct since they are more sensitive to the water quality than us. The few that we do have are mates to the high ranking officials and are expected to have many children."

Marie didn't back down from the challenge and kept her gaze even with his, "So they're breeding tools?"

He shrugged, "In a sense if you want to look at it like that."

Jamie saw the feud beginning and stepped in, "Marie he's just mean. Aenon I'm staying with Marie. I don't want to go with you or live in your stinky ocean."

Marie stood up now and brushed off the gritty sand. She took Jamie into her arms where he hugged her around the waist. It was a challenge. Aenon would not be deterred as he flopped back into the water to keep from drying out and swam to shore half beaching himself in the process, "One was or another you will come with me, but until then," he splashed his younger brother getting the girl wet in the process and zapped them with his 'magic', "You've been wa-"
