Aenon let out a long breath and looked at her through his now dry dark bangs, "She's in love with him? You're sure about this?"

Marie nodded knowing that her sister had never shown this expression to anyone before, let alone some guy. She bit her lip and looked up at him from under her eyelashes, "She's never looked at anyone like that. She's got it bad."

The new knowledge of this made him curse under his breath, "Bloody sea foam..." When Marie gave him a confused look he shook his head, "He's got it bad too, and this guy's like a brother to me. I can't do that to him."

The blue eyed mermaid grinned widely and sidled up to him nudging the tanned merman, "So it looks like we're going to be stuck together for a few more years."

He rolled his eyes, "More like the rest of my life... you do realize that I can't go back until I get Jamie back, right?"

She was already walking away and waved, "Then better get comfortable and get a job, cuz I don't support deadbeats."

The merman ran his hand over his face and groaned. He'd never get to go back to the merfolk city like this, especially with Shell the way he is. If he was right, he'd never get the blue tail to go back without that blonde. He ran a hand through his hair leaving it semi brushed back and partially sticking up in places, "Marie wait."

She paused just long enough for Aenon's long legs to cross the short distance to where she stood in the doorway. He was initially going to reach out and grab her arm but mid-reach he realized his actions and stopped letting his arm fall back to his side, "Marie let's be friends. I mean if we can't get rid of each other we can't stay like this. We can't keep fighting over stupid little things."

Marie stopped short and whirled around to face him. Her blue eyes seemed to burn with cool fire, "Stupid little things? That's my sister out there, her love life is no stupid little thing."

The anger that raged up from the protective spot reserved for her family had Marie on edge. She'd been off all day and she wasn't about to let this muscle headed freak hurt her sister. If her sister wanted to date a fishy tailed merman who's probably hiding something big, then so be it. She'd just have to keep watch over them until they found a solution to their problems and Shell came clean with whatever it is he's hiding.

Aenon drew back but stood his ground, "I'm not calling her stupid Marie."

The use of her name just infuriated her more. She'd never liked hearing her name come out in a conversation that had her on edge and he'd just used it. He didn't know that but he knew he'd ticked her off somehow when he watched her figure storm off towards the captain's quarters. He hit the door frame and spat under his breath, "Shit."

Sue and Shell watched as the two stormed off in opposite directions. They hadn't heard anything but the tail end of Marie's stomping in the stairwell and Aenon's thudding footfalls from the dining area. The two exchanged a blue eyed look and Sue shrugged causing them both to giggle. The young girl tugged on the merman's defined arm, "Come on, let's go look at those pictures I took earlier. I want to see how they turned out."

Meanwhile Marie was soaking in a tub full of bubbles. Bubble baths had always helped her calm down and this one wasn't doing it which frustrated her more. Just looking at herself submerged in water brought back the feelings of frustration that the seaweed green tailed merman had brought up in the first place. She splashed bubbles all over the sides of the tub and all but growled, "Who does he think he is? Dictating my sister's relationships like that. Well excuse me Mr. Fish, but it's not all up to you."

She ranted and raved to suds and soap bubbles for a while longer before rinsing off and getting out. Instead of making her way to the kitchen and risk facing anyone she decided to cozy up in her pajamas and watch movies on the big flat screen TV. She chose from the wide variety of Disney movies that she'd stockpiled along with her sisters over the years and settled on her favorite classic: Bambi. Cuddled up in a blanket on the couch she watched intently. The scene where Bambi's mother dies always made her cry, it was just so sad!
