Aenon grinned at Shell who swam up next to him, "Where did you go so early?"

Aenon was catching his breath, "Wanted to... see the sunrise... on the rocks..."

"Why are you so out of breath?" Shell rose an eyebrow, "Old human girlfriend? Did the tides strengthen?"

Aenon scoffed, "Pfft as if, there's no one on this island my tides would pull me to."

"Except Marie," Shell wiggled his blue eyebrows.

A lock of Aenon's black hair flopped over his seaweed green eyes. He brushed it back and frowned, "Why would you say Marie?"

Shell's signature surfer smile flashed, "Because you were chasing her like a shark yesterday." He shrugged obviously amused, "Not that I blame you though, I'd wash that fine blue tail any day."

Aenon rolled his eyes, "Dude she's human."

Shell mimicked him, "Dude she's gorgeous."

Aenon frowned, "Anyway how exactly are we going to get Jamie in the water?"

"Hold your kelp bruh, first we gotta get angelfish to trust us then we can convince them to go out for a swim." Shell leaned against the rock unworried, "All in tide bruh, all in tide."

Marie looked back at father and son, "See, they won't take you or drown anyone Jamie."

The father watched her still weary but now curious. She'd told off that fish boy no problem and his son seemed to trust her. Her slight accent said she wasn't from around here...

He knew he couldn't take his boy home until he dealt with his wife and this strange girl is the only one on the island who won't give in to his wife. He'd have to leave Jamie with her.

"Marie I want to take my son out today, but I'll have to bring him back tonight because of my wife. Is that okay?"

Marie nodded, her sky blue eyes completely understanding, "Its perfectly fine. Have a good time."

When they left she got to work cleaning her house. The halls were in need of fresh paint and the fan was broken. She opened the windows and let the magnificent sea breeze blow through the house. Ah how she loved the feel of the wind.

A shadow crept into the room as she looked up from her kitchen sink still humming and nearly dropped the cup she was washing. Standing there was a seagull watching her. Creepy.

She put her hand over her heart, "Geeze, you scared me little guy."

Looking past him she saw Shell wave and unconsciously waved back.

Catching herself she stopped and came outside. Beside Shell was Aenon who had a smirk on, "Hey, where's the squirt?"

Marie smirked right back as the wind blew a long wavy tress of her ebony hair free. Her eyes had a blue fire, "He's with his dad for the day. What do you two want?"

Shell nudged Aenon who reluctantly spoke, "Do you want to hang out?"

Marie narrowed her eyes but if they were with her they couldn't be off plotting, "And do what?"

Shell clapped, "Oh how about do or say?"

Marie was confused, "Do or say?"

"He means truth or dare." Aenon clarified.

"Okay who's going first?" She sat just out of reach of the waves and tucked her long tanned legs beneath her.

The boys pulled themselves up into shore but within the wave line, "Shell you go."

He grinned, "Marie do or tell?"

She grinned wickedly, "Dare."

"I dare you to kiss Aenon for a minute."

Marie looked at the black haired merman, he wasn't bad looking but he was so, so frustrating at times. It was a dare though.

Sliding up she pulled him up into a sitting position and without looking into his eyes she brought her lips to his. He tasted salty and kind of like tuna, but a dare was a dare.

Aenon's eyes went wide as she kissed him with only a little hesitation, so this is how Shell was going to play it.

He kissed her back surprised to find she tasted like strawberry cream cheese, something he hadn't had in years. Her hand came up and rested on the back of his neck toying with his hair, he'd forgotten how good kissing felt.

Deciding to test out his old skills he took control and pulled her close so he could toy with her long silky hair.

Marie gasped when he took control and the kiss made her head spin, yep way better than the snobs she'd dated so far.

Shell called time and they broke apart, the woman's cyan eyes half closed in a dreamy state with her arms around the merman's neck. The merman had one hand in her hair and the other around her waist with the same dazed expression. Shell smirked, all was going according to plan.

When she realized that she was practically draped over the man Marie scuttled away trying to catch her breath, "Okay...."

For the rest of the day they played but nothing even came close to that kiss. Marie had made them lunch and dinner. Shell had found a new love, lemonade.

They all lay that night by the shore, the men on either side with Marie in the middle, watching the sunset. Even though they were all laying with their shoulders touching Marie stayed dry because the low tide waves didn't hit her legs. The boys' long tails were wet though as the fins were in the water. It was obvious how she was smaller than either of them. Her shoulders were smaller than theirs, her waist was thinner, and her whole body and was narrower her still had those distinctive feminine curves.

Someone walked up, "So this is where you've been sis. Can I have one?"

Marie jumped and looked up at her younger sister. She was blonde and had the same blue eyes as Marie. The black haired woman sat up and faced her, "How did you find me?"

"I didn't, Claus did. You need to come back home."

Marie stiffened, "No. I won't."

Her sister narrowed her eyes, "You have to, I mean running away for no reason isn't good."

Marie's eyes widened as the mermen watched the exchange, "An arranged marriage isn't nothing! I can't, I won't marry Clyde."

Aenon's eyes widened. They still had those in the human world? Well damn, who was Marie?

Her sister looked between Marie and the boys, "Oh my god. Don't tell me you ran away because you were in love with someone else and then you guys came here because you wanted to elope and get married. That's sooo romantic!"

Aenon was about to speak but Marie nodded, "Yeah... Sue will you help us? I can't marry Clyde, I only want my love."

Her sister softened and plopped into the sand, "Awwww, how did you two meet?"

"It was on the beach and he was just there." Marie smoothly took her sister's hand as a wave crashed over her changing her to a mermaid, "And there's this too."

Sue stared at her sister in shock before screaming, "I knew it! I knew it I knew it I knew it! See I always knew mermaids existed!"

She was jumping up and down and Marie sighed, "So can you keep my location a secret Sue?"

"On one condition."

"What's that?"

"You tell me which one you're so in love with."

Shell cut in, "Well angelfish and my friend here are just so in love they can't stand it, so she became half mermaid just for him."

Aenon's eyes widened, what the hell did he get into? He only came for his brother!
