We went downstairs and saw Darryl beat up. we went into the living room and Leo healed him.
"Feeling better?" Leo asked Darryl.
"Yeah. Thanks, it's good to have you back."
"Thanks for helping me get back."
"Ah, don't mention it." Chris said and I hit his arm. He looked at me. "Ow!" He said holding his arm.
"How long after we left did the warriors show up?" Phoebe asked.
"Not long. Maybe a couple of seconds." Darryl said.
"They must have followed us from Valhalla." Phoebe said.
"Great. That means they're after us now." Paige said.
"Except they didn't hang out long enough to ask me where to find you. Granted I was looking through swollen eyes but they seem lost and confused."
"So what they just took off?" I asked.
"Thank goodness they did because-" Phoebe interrupted Darryl.
"We should have never put you in that situation. We should have come up with another way."
"Forget it. You know, it worked.
"Yeah for you maybe. What about the next poor guy that runs into those warriors?" Chris said.
"They are trained killers." I said. Oscar jumped onto Paige's lap.
"Yeah but they only kill evil." Paige said.
"He's not evil." I said referring to Darryl.
"KC's right." Leo said. "Not everything is black and white in this world. Warriors can't always tell the difference between good and evil."
"What do we do?" Phoebe asked.
"Well we need to find them fast."
"That shouldn't be too hard, they're gonna standout. Even to San Francisco." Darryl said.
"You're awfully forgiving considering everything they put you through." Paige said.
"They still have a noble purpose to preform. Keeping their secret is key to them fulfilling it. Besides, it's not the Valkyries fault that I ended up there." He looked over at Chris.
"Which brings us back to the warriors." Chris said.
"And let's not forget about Piper." Phoebe said.
"Maybe we should split up. You should go to the police station." Leo told Darryl. "They're gonna show up on the radar screen in a big way." Just then his pager went off.
"You know what, the officer's paging me anyways."
"Alright, make sure you're the first cop on the scene. We might need you to buy us some time." Leo said.
"Ok." Darryl said as he left.
"Uh maybe I should go to the newspaper and do the same thing.." Phoebe suggested.
"Good idea. Paige..."
"I should take Oscar home before I get fired." She said.
"You're kidding right?" Leo asked.
"No, I promised the temp agency I'd have him back in the morning and, huh, it's morning. Listen before you say anything, you've been gone, some things have changed and one of those things is that I am determined no more than ever to have a life separate from being a witch."
"Fine, but now?"
"Yeah. I've already done the reversal spell, can't do it without Piper and we don't know how to get her, so, I'm just an orb away if you need help." Then Paige left.
"Paige!" Leo tried to stop her.
"Let her go. It might seem silly to you but it's important to her, I know." Phoebe said.
"See, it helps to be an empathy." Chris said.
"No, it helps to be a sister, and while we're on that subject, we have to come up with another plan to get Piper out of Valhalla."
"She's right. Let's go." Leo said and grabbed Chris' arm.
"But-" Then Leo orbed them out.
Shortly after Phoebe left to go to her newspaper.
"Ya, let's leave the twelve year old alone in the house where demons attack on a near day to day basis. Great."
~o~
When everyone came back they still didn't have Piper and Chris looked a little shaken up.
"Where'd you guys go?" I asked him.
"Nothing it's fine."
"Ok." I hopped on his back and we joined the girls and Leo.
"There's gotta be a way to get Piper out of there. I know it." Phoebe said.
"Well, unfortunately the reversal spell as you so kindly pointed out, didn't exactly help Piper remember who she was." Paige said.
"What do the Elders think?"
"They think it had to be a demon who stuck Leo in Valhalla." Chris said.
"But they're not sure." Leo said.
"Still, it's their leading theory."
"Guys this is about Piper." Paige said.
"Actually, the elders believe that your new power is key to helping save Piper." Leo explained.
"My new power? How do they figure? All it's done is make things worse." Phoebe said.
"There's a reason you received it. They-we believe it's to help save Piper. So what exactly did you feel the last time from her?"
"Not much."
"You said you felt something familiar, little things." Paige said.
"Well, I mean, obviously I felt pain...and desire...to help.
"Well, she helped Darryl and that wasn't with her Valkyrie powers that was with her Charmed powers." Paige said.
"The witch within must still be alive." Chris said.
"And that's how you're gonna reach her." Leo said
"Yeah, but how? I mean, just because I can feel some glimmer of Piper's feelings doesn't mean she can. She's completely cut off from them." Phoebe said.
"Wait! Isn't there a spell in the book that allows somebody to feel what you feel?" I asked.
"If so then in this case it will be Piper feeling what you're feeling Piper should be feeling." Chris said and I looked at him a little confused. "Did that make sense?"
"Um, frighteningly it did." Paige said. "What about the spell I used on Cole last year. The one to make him sense whether or not you loved him? I could reword it for Piper."
"Actually, that's worth a shot." Phoebe said.
"Problem is you still have to get close to her to try it, and that's not gonna be easy." Chris said.
"Ya, especially with Piper's powers." Paige said.
"Maybe I could orb you." Leo said.
"No, Leo, you're the reason she's in this emotional cocoon, you need to stay far away from her. No offence." Phoebe said.
"Well, then the question is how do we get close enough to her without her kicking out butts?" Paige asked.
"I can use my new power to counteract hers."
"How do you figure?" Chris asked.
"Well, our powers are emotion based, right? If I can channel Piper's feelings, why can't I channel her powers and then use them against her?"
~o~
Chris's POV-
KC fell asleep on the couch in the living room and I put a blanket over her before I got started cleaning the cabinet Leo threw me into earlier.
"Hey Chris, what are you doing?" Paige came in wearing a nice purple dress.
"Wow, you look amazing." I said.
"Thank you. Um, leave it, I'll help you clean it up tomorrow."
"It's ok, I don't mind. It's the least I can do."
"What do you mean, the least you can do?"
"You know, for fighting with Leo."
"He attacked you don't worry about it."
"Yeah I know. Like I said, it's cool. Besides, if KC has a nightmare she might get up and walk around. Don't need her stepping on glass."
"Hi." Phoebe said as she came through the door.
"Hey. Guess it didn't go that well with Jason?" Paige asked.
"Well, I went all the way down there to talk to him and then I figured maybe it wasn't such a good idea that I even see him. At least until I can control my new power.
"Judging by how it's been going it might be just a little bit."
"I know, but what am I supposed to do? I'm gonna have to figure out how to use it sooner or later. And until then I'm just gonna stay away from horny men." I couldn't help but laugh at that one.
"Huh, good luck."
"Well, at least your power helped save Piper. That's gotta be a good thing right?" I said.
"Yeah, we'll help her with what she's going through though." Paige said.
"But at least she's going through it now. That's a good thing." Phoebe said.
"Yeah, well, let's hope. Well, I'm off to see Oscar." Paige said before heading to the door.
"Whoa, wait. Oscar the dog?" I asked confused
Yeah, he's having a bit of a tough time adjusting. I don't really want him roaming the streets by himself. Especially since I am the one who rescued him. You know, I was having trouble with the whole idea of that temp agency thing. but I'm kind of digging it now, it's alright."
"Wait, wait about Oscar-"
"Bye!" The Paige left.
I continued cleaning up the broken cabinet.
"You're a good brother." I looked over at Phoebe.
"Thanks. She's been through a lot. She's all I've got these days."
"What about your parents?" I wasn't really sure how to answer that one.
"They uh, aren't really around much anymore."
"I'm sorry."
"It's fine. I guess that's why I brought her with me. Maybe, being here, she can get the feel of having a family." Phoebe and I looked over at my KC, sleeping away.
