Chapter30|Chris'LittleSisterChris and I orbed into the attic after he heard phoebe yell his name.
"You talking about me?" Chris said as I hopped off his back.
"No, your fetus. Did you find something?" Phoebe asked.
"Not something, someone. Demonatrix."
"Chris, what you do in your spare time-"
"The weapon you found belongs to a group of deadly assassins known as demon... atrix."
"Ohh."
"Did you find out who they work for?" Dad asked.
"No, but, Leo, check this-" The Phoebe interrupted Chris.
"Dad. Would it kill you to call him dad?"
"Apparently, this demon gives his assassins vanquishing potions."
"Charmed Ones vanquishing potions." I said.
"What? How is that possible?" Phoebe asked.
"The book?" Chris guessed.
"No, they wouldn't be able to get near it." Dad said.
"Well, then how?" I asked.
"Well, one of them must be reading your minds, like the telepath did at magic school."
'Magic school." Phoebe said looking over at Chris and I.
"Mom. I'd better go check on her." Chris was about to leave before dad stopped him.
"No, we'll go. You get underground, see if you can follow the assassins to the demon."
"But-" the dad interrupted me.
"No, we'll take care of it. We'll make sure nothing happens to her, Chris, I promise."
Chris nodded his head before grabbing my hand and orbing us out.
~o~
Chris and I figured out who the demon is, and where he was at. he was looking for a car, I think anyway. Chris and I orbed in front of the casr he was in.
"I told you, we don't hurt innocents."
"That's a new one." Chris said and then the demon looked over and saw us.
"You!" The demon then tried to run us over, Chris orbed us out of the way in time though. Then we saw the blonde demon disappear. Chris grabbed the cigar from the ground and jumped in the nearest car and took off.
"I'll just hang out here!" I then saw the salesman running off. Great. Just what I needed. "Dad!" Then dad orbed in.
"KC what's wrong?"
"Could you orb me home? Chris went after then demon and kind of left me here."
"Sure thing come on." He grabbed my hand and orbed me home.
~o~
I was in the attic with Phoebe while she was on the phone.
"I promise I will have the column in by the deadline. Uh-huh, yeah, I'm just finishing up." Then Chris orbed in. "Uh, I gotta go. Tic toc, tic toc." Then she hung up. "Finally, where have you been?"
"Jail."
"What?" Phoebe and I both said.
"Don't worry, it's fine, nobody saw me orb out, and I talked to Darryl, he's gonna cover for me."
"How did you end up in jail?" Phoebe asked.
"Let's just say I had a little run in with our mystery demon. And when I say run in, I mean literally. The guy, he tried to run me over with his porsche. Not cool."
"A demon that drives a porsche? That's different."
"So is one who can orb and wants to save innocents."
"He can orb?" I asked and Chris nodded his head and began scrying.
"Forget tapping into us. It sounds like he wants to be us." Phoebe said.
"Why?"
"Why else? To kill us." The crystal pointed to a spot on the map. "Did you find him? Where is he?"
"Yeah. He's here."
"Here? Where here?" I asked.
"Paige."
The three of us rushed into Paige's room. We went in and saw her and the demon.
"Paige, are you... What are you doing?" Phoebe asked.
"You?" Chris asked, totally confused, just like I was.
"Uh, just, uh, napping." Paige said. Phoebe then left, all of us followed her.
"Paige, I don't even want to talk about this. I mean, how could you do such a thing?" Phoebe said when we got to the bottom of the stairs.
"Oh, what, like you've never conjured stuff before." Paige said.
"Yeah, well, never for myself and never a sex toy."
"I am not a sex toy." The guy said.
"Quiet, you."
"Well, we did it for Piper before."
"Yes, but that was different. We were trying to convince her to not give up on love. We were desperate."
"Well, maybe I am too."
"Excuse me, shouldn't we be focusing on the bigger issue here?" Chris said and pointed to the guy.
"How long has this been going on?" Phoebe asked.
"About three weeks." Paige answered.
"Three weeks!"
"Give or take. You're the one who kept telling me I needed a break."
"Yes, but I meant take a day off, you know. Go to the spa, have a pedicure, get a massage."
"I massage her." The guys said and Phoebe started gagging.
"Breathe." I told her trying to calm her down.
"What I wanna know is, how come when we were scrying for the demon, we got him instead?" Chris said.
"I don't know." Paige said.
"You might wanna know because he looks a hell of a lot like the guy who just tried to kill me."
"What? That is impossible."
"Didn't the demon start killing the other demons around the same time?" Phoebe said.
"I think so." I said and looked at the guy again. he looked exactly like the demon.
"I'm telling you, there's no way he's a demon, I made him to be good." Paige said.
"Well, maybe you also made one to be bad?" I asked and looked at Chris and Phoebe.
"I don't know." Phoebe said.
"No."
"How do you explain the scrying then?" Phoebe asked.
"And the fact that he makes potions, and has your powers. Talk about your personal gain consequences." Chris said.
"Personal gain. I'm so tired. If I hear those two words again, I tell you what." Paige said then her Mr. right got in on this more.
"Nevertheless, it's there for a reason. It's why Phoebe lost her powers."
"Whose side are you on?"
"I know what you know, Paige, and we both know they're right."
"Wow. Did you conjure him or clone him?" Phoebe asked.
"Okay, this is so stupid. Why don't we just un-conjure him so they'll both go away." Chris said.
"I can't. I make him to last 24 hours. The spell's not done yet." Paige said.
"Great. So how long do we have to wait?"
"Till after midnight."
"Well, let's just hope we find him before he finds us." Then the doorbell rang. "Maybe that's another one of your suitors that you've conjured for your own personal gain and pleasure."
"Oh, I hope so." Paige said before turning to Mr. Right "No offense."
Phoebe opened the front door and Darryl was there.
"Hey, Darryl. Uh, now's not really a good time." Phoebe said.
"I'm here about Chris." He said.
"Yeah, he told me you covered for him. That was great."
"I'm taking him back." I heard something and looked back at two cops walking in behind us.
"What?" Chris and I both said.
"Wait, what's going on?" Phoebe said and the handcuffed Chris.
"I'm taking him back to county." Darryl said.
'Hey! A little help here, please?" Chris said.
"What do you want me to do?" Phoebe asked as the cops took Chris away.
"Uh, Chris, don't worry, we'll figure it out, I promise." Paige said. "Take KC to the attic please." She asked Mr. Right. He nodded his head and led me up the stairs.
"Darryl." I heard Phoebe say.
~o~
We got up to the attic and I sat down with my head in my hands.
"How stupid can my brother be?" I said to myself.
"He's not stupid KC." Mr. Right said.
"He knowingly took a car and chased down a demon, he should have known it was pointless."
"Not everyone thinks things through like you do."
"Not the point. It was a demon. obviously a car chase isn't going to work."
~o~
Later Phoebe and I were in the attic working on the potion for Mr. Right's evil twin, when Mr. right walks in.
"Can I come in?" He asked.
"Shouldn't you be off peeling Paige a grape or something?" Phoebe said.
"She doesn't like grapes. Uh, actually, she's not back yet. What are you doing?"
"I'm making a vanquishing potion for your evil twin. Or at least I'm trying to."
"Maybe I can help?"
"No, I think you've done enough already, thank you."
"Okay. Look, I know you're mad at her and me, and you have every right to be."
"I know."
"But you know Paige. She doesn't think it's fair for magic to take away so much away from you guys, without ever giving anything back."
"Yeah, but that still doesn't justify-"
"I know, it doesn't. But she was going crazy. She was overloaded. She didn't want to complain, she didn't want you to have to feel guilty for having lost your powers. Just don't stay mad at her too long, okay? It hurts her, Phoebe. She looks up to you, a lot more than you know.
"Really?"
"Yeah. I think you're missing one key ingredient for this potion to work." He picked up a pin. "My blood. After all, it's his too." He then pricked his finger over the potion.
"Ouch. Doesn't that hurt?"
"No. I only feel what Paige feels. After all, I'm not real. Although, the more I come back, the more I wish I was."
Then Paige and Dad orbed in.
"Phoebe, I thought about it and I just wanted to say that you're right and-" Phoebe interrupted Paige.
"Stop. You apologized already. It's okay. Okay, so we have the potion, all we need is the demon."
"Any idea who he'll go after next?" Dad asked.
"Komodo demon." Paige and Mr. Right said at the same time.
"I like the way you think." Paige said.
"Right back at you."
"Eww."
~o~
I was told to stay here with Paige's Mr. Right. When Phoebe and dad came back, Phoebe wasn't too happy. Now we're walking down the hall while Phoebe rants.
"'Use my blood', you said. 'It's his blood too', you said." Phoebe said,
"How was I supposed to know the potion wouldn't work?" Mr. Right said. In all fairness it isn't his fault.
"I thought you knew him."
"No, I said I know Paige. There's a difference."
"What? Testicles? I thought you guys were like three peas in a pod."
"No, Paige is real. We're not, remember?"
"He's right. She didn't make them vulnerable because she didn't want them to go away." Dad said.
"Until it's time."
"Well, we have to find her before midnight. God knows what he'll do to her by then." Phoebe said sitting down.
"He won't hurt her. He loves her. That much I know. That's why she went with him."
"Yeah, but why is she staying? Why hasn't she orbed out of there? I mean, she may want a lot of crazy things, but she'd never want to be with a demon."
"Don't count on it. Paige has a dark side like everybody else. He's appealing to that, to what she secretly wants."
" And what's that?" I asked.
"To be free, independent, to be able to use her magic without fear of consequence. That's extremely seductive to her."
"And so are those pheromones I bet." Phoebe said.
"Especially when used by evil."
"Yeah trust me we've seen enough of the pheromones." I said remembering Chris' little plan back on mom's birthday.
"We've gotta figure out a way to vanquish this guy."
"Yeah, but how? She made him invincible." Dad said.
"Then why not make him real? Break our magical bond."
"I'm sorry?" Phoebe asked.
"It's what Paige would do if she was here. I mean, I know it's whacky but it might work."
"It'd certainly make him vulnerable to a potion." Dad said.
"And we still have plenty left." I said.
"Guys, this is not Pinocchio, we can't just make things real." Phoebe said.
"We're not making things real. Just him. And he's already half way there just by being conjured. I know you can do it, Phoebe."
"Thanks... Paige. Still, it doesn't help us find her."
"Maybe we can. Or at least maybe Chris can, like he did before." Dad said.
"Have you forgotten he's in jail?"
"Not for long he's not." He went to orb and I quickly grabbed onto his arm and went with him.
~o~
We orbed to the police station.
"How often do you jump on someone orbing?" he asked.
"A lot."
"Stay close ok?" I nodded my head and we walked in and found Darryl.
"We need to talk." Dad said.
"Hello, Leo. Knew you'd show up sooner or later."
Darryl walked into his office and Dad and I followed him.
"Darryl, Paige is in trouble. A demon took her and I need Chris to help find her."
"Sorry, I can't help you."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Exactly what it sounds like. Look, I told the girls, and now I'm telling you. I'm not doing it anymore. Forget it."
"Look, I understand-"
"Hey. You don't understand. It's over, Leo. When those beings who erase memories allowed me to remember what happened after last time, I changed. I saw the light. This is your fight. It's not mine.'
"Well, I am fighting to try and save my sons. Alright, they are in trouble. Wyatt might be in trouble too. You're a father."
'I'm a cop. All I know... all I'm supposed to know is Chris got caught stealing a car. That's it. Son or no son, he's busted."
"Yeah, well, sooner or later they're gonna figure out who he is, and then what, huh?'
'It's not my problem. Excuse me." The Darryl left. Dad grabbed my hand and orbed us out. we ended up in C
"Took you long enough." Chris said.
"Shh. Not so loud. I'm getting you outta here."
"Great. So Darryl's gonna cover?"
"Forget about Darryl. Come on."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. We're just gonna orb out of here? What about exposure?"
"Right now I'm a more worried about them exposing you."
"Yeah, but0"
"Look, son. I'm not gonna let you hang here, okay. Now come on, you've got an Aunt to save." Chris stood up.
"Thanks, dad." I smiled at Chris before we orbed out.
~o~
We orbed into the attic.
"Chris, you're out." Phoebe said.
"Yeah, thank god." Chris said/
"So how's that potion coming? Did it work?" Dad asked.
"Perfectly." Mr. Right said and held up his hand, which was cut open and bleeding.
"Okay, great. Chris has an idea on how you can find Paige." Dad told Phoebe.
"Me?"
"You're gonna have to sneak in." I said.
"And then once you're in, we'll bring you the potion that makes the demon real."
"And how exactly am I going to sneak in?"
"This is where you hate Chris all over again." I said.
~o~
Well after everything that happened and Paige almost killing mom stuff things went back to normal, well as normal as they could be.
Chris and I were sitting in my room.
"I see you and dad are getting along finally." I said. "You even called him dad." he glanced over at me.
"Yeah well, he did kinda bust me out of jail." He looked up at me. "Thought about your name yet?"
"A little. It's kind of weird, picking your own name." he laughed a little.
"Well that's our family kid. We're all weird."
"I know that. I grew up with you."
"Hey now that hurts. I was the perfect big brother to you."
"Really now? You once turned my hair bright green."
"That was an accident. I told you I had never made that potion before. and you nearly set me of fire is I remember correctly."
"I was four and didn't know what I was doing."
"You still set me on fire."
"You're fine now aren't you?"
"That's not the point." He looked over at the clock. "Time for bed kid." I nodded my head and got in bed.
Chris got up and turned off the light on his way out.
(Chris' POV-)
I left KC's room and ran into Leo.
"Hey is KC asleep?" he asked.
"Yeah I just left her. She's fine."
"Ok." I went past him but he stopped me. "You're a good brother Chris. Thanks you for being there when we weren't."
"It wasn't all your fault. I mean, you guys didn't cause anything to happen the way it did so, it's fine."
"You did a good job raising her."
"Thanks." Then I left.
Maybe there's hope for this family after all.
