Chapter 15

So there wasn't much I could do for episode 8 so imam just skip it. Recap though it was were Wyatt got Excalibur
Chris orbed us into the house so he could see if the girls got the demon.
"So you vanquished the demon?" Chris asked as I jumped off his back.
"Yes and no." Piper said.
"Well, the good news is the demon you sent us after is in fact gone." Paige said.
"And the bad news is whatever ate it, left us that." Phoebe said pointing to the playpen. We looked in the playpen and the other baby showed us it's lizard tongue.
"I think he likes you." Paige said.
"I don't care. Vanquish it." Chris said.
"Chris." Phoebe said.
"I mean it. Now."
"No, we are not vanquishing a baby. What's wrong with you?" Paige said.
"I'm just concerned that this could be the future evil that gets to Wyatt."
"Don't be ridiculous."
"What? I'm being ridiculous? There is a demon in the playpen." Then the phone went off.
"I'll get it." Paige said and headed for the phone.
"Hey, if it's Jason, tell him I'm in the shower." Phoebe said.
"Are you avoiding him?" Piper asked.
"Uh, kind of. I, um, sort of told him that I loved him last night."
"Oh, and this is bad?"
"No, except I said 'I love you too' as if he said 'I love you' first, which he didn't."
"So wait, you told him that he loves you before he tells you that he loves you?"
"Mm-hm, mm-hm."
"Yeah, that's not good."
"Yeah, I'll be lucky if he doesn't move to Hong Kong permanently now. I really thought I had my empath power under control."
"Forget that. What are you gonna do?" Chris said.
"What am I supposed to do? I mean, you know, you tell a guy that you love them and they bolt, you know, it's just what they do." Phoebe said.
"About the baby, I meant the baby. We gotta do something." We looked over and saw him scoop up a pacifier with his tongue. "Fast."
I left the room the room and upstairs to the attic. I knew Chris was gonna want the book of shadows so I jumped on it.
"Vicious demons with supernatural strength and venomous claws. Manticores communicate with high-pitch cries and tend to travel in packs." I read from the book.
"Great. Well, I say we get rid of the little brat before the pack comes looking for him." Chris said.
"Okay, fine. What do you suggest we do with him? Call social services?" Piper said.
"No, I suggest you vanquish it."
"Chris, I'm a mother, I can't go around vanquishing babies, no matter how evil they are."
"It's not how evil he is, it's how evil he's gonna be. You gotta stop looking at him like he's a little baby and start looking at him like he's an unstoppable killing machine, because that's what he is."
"I realize that, but still."
"But still nothing. You're supposed to protect the innocents, right? Well, think of all the future innocents you can save by vanquishing him right now."
"Don't you think I know that? I'm scared to death of what he can possibly do to Wyatt but I can't even separate them."
"Piper, there's one thing you can do and you know it. And you better do it fast before any other Manticore show up. There's no known vanquishing potion."
"I just can't do it."
"Okay. Well, if you won't listen to me, maybe you'll listen to Leo." Then Chris grabbed my hand and orbed us out.

Chris orbed us to the Golden Gate bridge and found Leo.
"Leo, I have been looking everywhere for you. What are you doing up here?" Chris asked.
"Communing with the others."
"Can anyone see us?" I went to edge and looked down but regretted it soon after. I stumbled back into Chris and he caught me. "Smooth."
"Not me. But you look like a lunatic standing up here talking to yourself. What do you want?"
"It's about Piper."
"Is she alright?"
"Yeah, she's fine, don't worry. It's Wyatt I'm worried about."
"Why? What happened?"
"Well, nothing yet. Just out of curiosity, what's the Elders policy on vanquishing demon babies?"
"Why?"
"No reason. There's just one playing with Wyatt in his playpen as we speak."

When Chris and Leo orbed us back to the manor Phoebe had and ice pack and the baby was asleep.
"Hey." Chris and I said.
"Shh, shh, keep it down, don't wake the baby. Trust me." Paige said.
"Where's Piper?" Chris whispered.
"That's a really good question." Phoebe said.
"Wait, she's missing?" Leo asked.
"Did the Manticores take her?" Chris asked.
"No, some other creature that wanted the baby." Phoebe said.
"Damn it, you should have listened to me, you should have vanquished him when you had the chance."
"Well, it's good that we didn't because we're gonna need the baby to get Piper back." Paige said.
"You guys, shh, keep your voices down." Phoebe said.
"I am not convinced that that baby is inherently evil. Which means he's probably not even responsible for any of this."
"Oh, come on. Will you please talk to her?" Chris said motioning to Leo.
"Not everyone is born morally neutral, especially not demons. They're pre-disposed to evil." Leo explained.
"Pre-disposed, yeah, but it doesn't mean they can't be raised to overcome it. You can't predict whether a kid is gonna be good or evil based on his genetics." Paige said.
"Paige, we're not talking about kids, we're talking about demons." Chris said.
"No, we're talking about a demon kid who has so far played nothing but nice with Wyatt."
"Okay, you guys, this is all irrelevant. We need the baby to find Piper so let's just focus on that, shall we?" Phoebe said.
"She's right. Although I think I should take Wyatt just to be on the safe side." Leo said.
"What if the other baby wakes up?"
Leo went over to Wyatt and picked him up.
"He's gonna scream bloody murder and call half the Manticores in the city to come save it. Maybe the beast too." Paige said.
"We have to be prepared." Phoebe said and turned to Leo. "Okay, go, just quietly." Leo orbed out with Wyatt and Chris grabbed my arm and orbed out too, following Leo.

When ended up going to Leo's new home, I guess you could call it that.
"KC would mind playing with Wyatt?" Leo asked, handing him to me.
"No it's fine."
"Thanks." I took Wyatt a to the side and was playing peek a boo with him. Leo hadn't brought anything so there wasn't much to do.
After a while Chris came over saying they were leaving and I hopped on his back. I looked over and saw Wyatt was ok with an Elder and Chris orbed us out.

"We just got back to talking to the Elders and they're at an agreement. If we can't return the baby safely to the Manticores..."
"We'll vanquish it." Chris said interrupting Leo.
"Talk about your moot points, people." Paige asked.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Chris asked.
"Well, do you notice anything missing?" Phoebe asked. We all looked at the playpen and saw the baby was gone.
"The baby?" I asked.
"What happened?" Chris asked.
"The beast took him. Right after the Manticores kicked our asses." Paige said.
"This is all Jason's fault." Phoebe said.
"How's that?" Leo asked.
"Oh, you're a guy, you wouldn't get it."
"Wait, how are we supposed to get back Piper if we don't have the baby?" Chris asked.
"Well, we're gonna try to have another little get together with the Manticores, see if we can't start some sort of deal." Paige said.
"If we can join forces with them to kill the beast, then they can get their baby back." Phoebe asked.
"And we can get our sister back."
"And what if they don't want to join forces?" Leo asked.
"Well, we hope we have enough of these fancy little things to go around." Paige said, holding up a potions vile.
"No, no way, it's too risky." Chris said.
"Well, blood is thicker than water." Phoebe said and dropped some blood on the crystal and began scrying.

While Phoebe and Paige were out there, doing their plan, Chris, Leo and I were looking for anything that might help.
"Nothing." I said closing the book.
"Leo, we need you!" We heard Piper's voice from downstairs. Leo orbed down and Chris orbed us down there. "Hurry, he's dying." Piper motioned Leo towards a man, who was laying on the couch, bleeding to death.
"Who is he?" Leo asked as he went to the man's side and began healing.
"The beast. Heal, heal, hurry." Phoebe said.
"He's the beast? What happened?" I asked.
"Where's the baby?" Chris asked.
"Manticores have him." Paige said.
"Oh, so the plan worked?"
"Yeah, a little too well." Phoebe asked.
"Yeah, now we just have to get the baby back." Paige said.
"What?" Chris said.
"Paige, will you go fill up some potion viles, please?" Piper asked.
"Yeah." Paige said getting up.
"Lots of them."
"There should still be a bunch of that potion." I said.
"Thanks." The Paige went upstairs.
"What, hold up. Are you serious? You finally get rid of the demon child and now you wanna risk your lives trying to get it back?"
Leo finished healing the man and he sat up.
"He's not a demon child. That's my son." He said.
"How are you feeling? Are you alright?" Piper asked him.
"I can't believe I'm human again."
"Aren't you glad you didn't kill me now?"
"Not funny, I don't think that's funny." Leo said.
"Agreed." Chris said.
"Yeah." I said at the same time as Chris.
"Oh, what, are you two on like the same team now?" Phoebe said looking at Chris and Leo. "We're gonna get your baby back, I promise." She said, talking to the man now.
"Do we not have a say in this?" Chris asked.
"No, we don't. One thing you gotta learn about being their Whitelighter is once they make up their mind, that's it. Besides, I'm a father first." Leo said.
"So we're gonna have to separate the baby before we attack. You know that, right?" Phoebe said.
"Why?" The man asked.
"Well, because the potion vanquishes Manticores, and your son is half Manticore." Piper explained.

After the man, or Derek, left with his son I went upstairs with Chris. He was still looking through the book like he always did. I was starting to get a bad feeling the more we were here.
"Chris?" He looked at me.
"Yeah? What is it?"
"Do you think he knows? That we're gone?"
"I'm sure he does by know. Question is, when is he going to send someone after us."
"What if he does. Chris he'll have you killed for this."
"I'll handle it. He won't kill me remember? Not if power really is all he cares about."
"I just have a bad feeling." I said and looked down at the floor.
"Hey." I looked up and Chris was kneeling in front of me. "We can do this ok? Remember what I told you when we decided this."
"I know."
"Come on." He said and we went downstairs with everyone else.
