The sole reason why I attend any party is because of FOOD.

But I forgot how frat parties can be. All these boys are so nasty I might throw up now.

The only thing those daft has to serve is Booze. No water, no soda, no food.

Like, come on! At least they could have ordered some Pizza!

All the dimwits are busy grinding themselves.

Bloody Tarnation! I'm hungry!

Frustrated because of the hunger, I decided to sit at the farthest of the bar table where I observed no one is going.

"Was not expecting to see you here." I heard a familiar voice.

I turned around to see Blake. His face was plastered with a lopsided grin.

I stared at him, uncertain whether he had approached me for the sake of old times or for any other reason.

He's a good-looking guy with an innocent face. Pretty much every girl who knows him kinda has hots for him.

Even I did.

"Where's your girlfriend?" Seriously, Diana? You have to ask him this question? Like nothing else? What about a simple Hello?

A glint of annoyance flickered in his eyes. But he quickly concealed it.

"She's not here."

Oh, That's why he came to me otherwise he doesn't have it in him to talk to me when his little girlfriend is around.

"Oh, I see." I awkwardly said. "You must be bored." I added.

He looked at me for a second and a smirk plastered on his face. "Now that you are here I won't be."

I just simply stared at him. I blinked 2-3 times and turn around on my bar stool.

"So are you here with someone or waiting for someone?" He asks me while taking a seat beside me.

"Neither."

"Good."

Huh?

As we sat in our chairs, silent, an uncomfortable silence engulfed us. There are thousands of thoughts racing through my mind, and I'm afraid to open my mouth for fear of doing something that will scare him away.

"How have you been? It feels like ages since we had any decent conversation." He asked breaking the silence I was relishing in.

That's because you're whipped around your girlfriend. The bitch in my mind said.

"I'm doing well, what about you?" Anxiously, I fiddled with my earring. I'm not sure why I'm feeling so jittery.

"Me too."

His voice was strained, it made me look at him.

He was already staring at me, his eyes reflected emotions that I can't fathom.

"Aren't we both lying here?" He asked with a doleful smile.

"Maybe lying will help us." Without giving any second thought words slipped out of my mouth.

Blake seemed lost for a second. He shook his head and chuckle.

"Never once I thought I'll be seeing you here at a frat party." He said sipping his beer.

"Is my presence troubling you Blakey?" I asked with a smirk slowly forming on my face.

"Your presence will never bother me, Diana." He said with a genuine smile.

"I'm happy to see you here, Maybe we can have a heart to heart conversation just as we used to have like-"

He stopped and gazed straight into my eyes.

I can see he's struggling to say it out loud.

That's why I completed it for him.

"Like we used to have before you got a girlfriend."

I was sad when he ignored me.

Not as a lover.

I was sad like how he just dumped me as a friend.

How can people just leave their friends when they get into a relationship?

"Are you mad at me?" He asked, sipping his drink, avoiding making eye contact with me.

Crazy how he casually asked if I am mad at him. As if he doesn't know the answer to it.

I had put effort into our friendship, but it all seemed to go in vain.

"Naah," I answered in a voice as nonchalant as I could muster.

"Hey, Blake wanna join us for drinks?" Roy one of his basketball mates asked him.

Good, finally this pathetic friend's reunion will be over and I'll be free to sit alone.

"Thanks for asking, but I'm kind of busy." His reply made me groan internally.

"YOU SHOULD GO." I said it out so loud that even Roy was looking at me with wide eyes.

"No, I want to be here, with you." He emphasized you, which made me vexed.

"All right, buddy, you know where to find us if you change your mind." Roy said, and he and his companions vanished into the crowd.

"I'm not a great company tonight, you know," I told him, trying to shoo him away because the need to argue with him was becoming stronger as the minute's pass.

"Do you ever want to sit next to someone and listen to whatever they're rambling because you just like their presence?" He questions me raising a single brow at me.

Uncertain what to say, I nodded.

"You're that someone to me."

Whatever witty remarks I had in my mind left as soon as he said that. I was speechless.

"I really miss us, I miss being with you, and our endless talks. I miss the way we used to look at each other when something happens and no one understands it, but us."

My heart suddenly jolted as out of the blue he interlaces our fingers.

"You are good you know that?" I gaped at him, flabbergasted.

"You act like a cold heart bitch but, I know how kind you are. You're a good person with a tough demeanor."

Woah.

What kind of crack is this fella high on?!

He has to be foxed! There's no way on earth he would come and converse to me all this sentimental stuffs being sober.

Seriously what just happened? Did he say those things? He never said such things to me in the past, until now!

"Are you going to cry by praising me?"

He laughed and looked at me, it was so intense that a shiver ran down my spine.

He leaned in closer and whispered to my ear, making me froze in my seat. "You have no idea."

And with that,

He left.
