His eyebrows furrowed, then he raised one and asked "I thought you don't regret things Diana"
This boy surely has some balls to get on my nerves.
Huh.
Jerk.
"It's almost 2019 and I see you're still an Asshole." This time I smirked.
Winking, he replied,"Being a bitch is your defense mechanism and being an asshole is mine."
I threw my water bottle on his face.
And it hit him.
Good.
Rolling his eyes, he asked, "Why am I here Diana?"
I was blank for a second. Didn't know what to say. Why did I call him again? Because I was stressed? YES! I was panicking? Definitely YES!
Clearing my throat, I said "Well, Scott must have told you about our little chat."
"Yeah, he told me that he tried to resolve things with you and it went well. So he asked me to solve stuffs with you too. But you basically blocked all my numbers and from social media too so it was kinda difficult for me to reach you so I thought maybe I should wait and give you some time. You know 'Post Scott drama time'. That's why I was kinda...... Err shocked when I saw your voicemail."
I blinked several times processing what he said. I felt guilty for not listening to Max sooner. Unlike Scott Max tried many times to talk to me, but I always turned him down. Just like Scott did to me. I don't know whether Max has a genuine reason or not but I should have listened to him.
"Okay" Tightening my ponytail, I said "I- Scott- Umm yeah"
Seriously lady get your grip!
Shaking my head and giving him an awkward smile I continued "Sorry about that didn't expect you to see here today so I really have no idea what to say."
He nodded, "I can understand. This all of a sudden. Scott showing up at your house a-"
"I believe you have some explaining to do"
"-nd then I'm here. Wow, that was fast! Hmm, okay yes I do. But why do I think that this is not the only reason that I'm here. You clearly have something else in mind too."
"H-How-"
"There was an urgency in your voicemail and now you're asking me how confirms it."
Max knew me deep to my core. I don't know how he does it, he always figures things out.
It really hurts to remember how close we we're back then.
In a whisper I said, "Once you asked me to trust you. Is that offer still valid? Can I trust you Max?"
