Chapter 49 ~ Reminisced

Shivaay left to get her medicines while Anika sneezed more worse than before. So, she decided to wash her face.

After few minutes, she felt relaxed as her sneeze frequency reduced but she had a weird feeling that she had lost something. That's when she realized that her nuptial thread was missing and she panicked searching all around.

Suddenly she saw it shining in the hands of a little girl playing nearby. Anika felt thankful but by the time she walked to her, the little girl put it into the anthill shocking Anika.

Unknowingly tears rolled down her cheeks, not knowing what to do.

Anika's inner voice, "How can I leave my mangalsutra (nuptial thread) there?! I can't. I should take it out at any cost. Anika you can do it!"

Thinking, she was about to place her hand into the anthill when Shivaay saw her from a bit far.
"Anika!" Shivaay shouted running towards her grabbing everyone's attention but Anika didn't stop. She placed her hand inside and thankfully she found it immediately as it didn't fall inside, it was just hanging.

Reaching to her, he took away her hand and checked if anything happened to her.
"Have you gone mad Anika?! What were you doing? You know how dangerous it was!" Shivaay asked her continuously not allowing her to reply.

She just showed her nuptial thread to him shocking him.
"A little girl put my mangalsutra into the anthill but thankfully it didn't fall. I took it out." Anika said hugging her nuptial thread to her heart.

Shivaay hugged her tightly not knowing how to react. He couldn't scold her as well, he was just happy she was safe.

By the time, the news spread like fire and their families reached there.

"Princess! What did you do? If something happens to you!" Arnav asked hugging his sister.
"I would have died if something happened to her." unknowingly Shivaay muttered to himself but OmRu who were standing beside heard him.

The pooja continued after Anika explained her situation. Everyone felt thankful that she was safe.

Once the Pooja completed, Khushi's Dadi stated "Shivaay beta, don the mangalsutra on Anika's neck."
Both Anika and Shivaay fell blank as they didn't know how to react.
"Bhai! It's bhabhi only. Not someone else!" Rudra whispered in his ears.

The Brahmin chanted the mantras while Shivaay donned the nuptial thread on her bare neck, bells ringing in the temple. He put vermilion on her forehead while everyone including them reminisced ShivIka's marriage moments.

It was around 1.00 PM by the time they came back. Arnav called the doctor for Anika's checkup despite her protests and she was reported to be normal except for some scratches on her sensitive hands.

"Bhai! Now happy? Nothing happened to me right?! Leave way so that I can get food for you! You didn't eat anything from morning." saying Anika was about to get down when OmRu entered saying,"Bhabhi! Relax. We brought food for you guys. Enjoy!"

"You are not moving out of your bed until you get proper rest!" Arnav stated while Anika groaned.
"Bhai will I die if I don't take rest!?" Anika questioned when she heard two loud shrills.

"Anika! Don't you dare say that." Shivaay and Arnav chorused reacting the same way. Both of them were upset when Anika apologized "Okay sorry! Stop being angry both of you! And please eat your food."

But Arnav left from there, and Shivaay was also about to leave when Anika spoke tears brimming her eyes,"Please Shivaay! Have food. I'm sorry."
"Please Anika! Don't cry. I can't..." Shivaay trailed his voice off completing the sentence in his mind,
"I can't see you crying Anika!"

Once Shivaay finished his food, Anika left in search of her brother. And she found him sitting in the lawn.
"Bhai! I'm sorry." Anika apologized catching hold of her ears showing her puppy eyes.

"Anu! Will you ever say something like that again?!" Arnav asked, continuing not waiting for the answer "If you, then I will seriously...!"

e just hugged her tightly not able to utter any further, she reciprocating it.

"Aww! You both are so cute." Khushi said as she entered the lawn pinching their cheeks simultaneously shocking Arnav.
"Khushi?! Seriously!" Arnav asked her not able to believe what she just did.
"Of course sweetheart! Best Sis- Bro combo." Khushi said back with much pride.

"Don't worry Bhabhi jaan! You will see the best husband in him too!" said Anika winking while Khushi blushed at her friend's statement.
