After I've boldly stated facts, I decide to take a shower. I'm covered in my own blood and it's kinda gross. I carefully rinse off avoiding my neck. I dry off and still avoiding my neck pulled on a dark green tshirt and yellow shorts.
I slinked out the bathroom and notice my parents eating lunch and talking in hushed voices. Food. I need food. Or blood I guess. Grr, I'm so new to this. "Mom... I'm hungry!" I said. "Well, I'm not really sure what to do." Mom really does look dumbfounded.
"How about we go to the butchers?" Dad asked. I'm so glad he understands that I'm not read to hunt yet. "Yeah, I'm sure they have some er leftover blood," Mom said intensely relieved. Hmmm, but what excuse are we gonna make?
Hey Mr. Butcher, I was just wondering if you had any leftover blood, I would like to buy it for my daughter here! No way. Well I'm starving so I'll try anything! We slowly drove over to the butchers and rehearsed what we were gonna say. We came up with we needed the blood for.... Sigh, we got nothing.
So we decided to just wing it. We stepped inside the tiny buildings. Luckily nobody was in there but the butcher himself. "What'd ya need?" He gruffly asked. "Well um we were just wondering if you had any..... Blood??" Awkward silence. I literally couldn't think if anything more to say.
After staring at us for what felt like hours, he said,"Yeah I've got some in the back. I'll just.... go get that for yah." Phew. He clomps back into the room with a bucket full of blood. I lick my lips. He stares at me frightened. It looks so good. To humans, it's like seeing a bucket full of burgers after a day of no food.
"How much will that be?" My dad asks getting out his wallet. "Free of charge," he stutters. He lifts up the heavy burden and I grab it and easily walk out. Oops forgot about my incredible strength. Well, too bad. I'm too hungry to care. Once home, my parents hurry out of sight, for obvious reasons.
I grab a glass and pour it full. Then I lean back my head and gulp it down. It isn't bad at all, in fact it's better than any human food I've ever had. It's hard to believe I was once human. I feel stuffed. I wiped my mouth with renewed energy.
