"Are you sure you're not the one who likes Harry, Malfoy? You talk about him quite a lot."
---
"You remind me of someone," Harry said walking beside you. You were making your way to the Room of Requirement that Dobby told Harry about. It was along the seventh corridor and a wave of familiarity washed over you as you reached the door that held your new headquarters.
"Do I?" You asked, gently opening the door, being greeted by familiar faces.
"Yes, but I just need to figure out who." Harry looked into your eyes, deep in thought. You blushed. Turning around to face the group you recognised a lot of people. Cho was there with her friend Marietta, you weren't a fan of her. Terry, Michael, Anthony, Luna, the Weasleys, Zacharias Smith, Neville and many more.
Zacharias had a disgusted look on his face. "We can't have her here, she associates with Malfoy. A Slytherin."
You widened your eyes in shock. You didn't think anyone noticed that Draco and you interacted.
"I trust her," Harry grabbed your hand and gently placed his in it. The jealousy on Cho Chang's face didn't go unnoticed by you and you felt yourself getting a little protective of Harry. But I have Draco.
But he's a git towards you.
You smiled shyly at Harry and watched as a bunch of your friends came over to stand with you, leaving only Zacharias, Cho and Marietta against you. Cho looked like she didn't want to be there.
"Good, now that that's settled, let's get started!" Hermione smiled. Everyone partnered up and you found yourself alone. Even though many people stood up for you, they were still quite apprehensive towards the idea of partnering up with someone who associates with Slytherins.
"You can work with me, [Name]," Harry smiled at you and brought you over to a spare spot. "We're practicing Expelliarmus."
You nodded. "I can do that. Expelliarmus!"
Harry's wand flew out of his hand and into yours. He looked at you with shock. "Well, you don't need any teaching. I'm gonna go help the others, I suggest you help too. You're as good as I am."
You smiled shyly, trying to stop the heat rushing into your cheeks. The Harry Potter complimented you! But some guilt rushed in. The guilt being a certain blonde-haired boy who made your life Hell, but also made it great. You didn't know what to do.
You decided to go over to where Luna was. You knew she wouldn't mind you being there.
"Need any help?" You asked her quietly.
"Yes, please. I can't quite get the wand movement right," she replied in her dreamy voice.
You spent most of your time helping Luna while listening to her talking about Nargles. Then you got onto the topic of thestrals.
"So you can see them too?" you asked. She nodded.
"They can only be seen by someone who has seen death. Harry can see them too."
You were puzzled. Seen death? But you had never seen someone die before. You were sure you would have remembered something as traumatic as that. But nothing came to mind.
"I saw my mother. She was quite an extraordinary witch, but one day one of her spells went wrong. I was nine."
You patted Luna on the back and went back to helping. Your mind wasn't there though. You were still wondering how you could see the thestrals when you hadn't seen anyone die before.
