The Lupin Household
1984The full moon. The eerie glow was enough to scare anyone away from their windows and go retreat into the comfort of their plush beds. It illuminated the forest. Highlighting every tree, every shadow. Capturing any movement. So much as a tiny insect could be spotted if you were watching.
[Name] had had the weirdest feeling in her stomach after her brother said goodnight to her. It wasn't a simple gesture and to her, it felt more like a goodbye. She may have only been four-years-old, but she noticed a lot. She picked up on things, listened carefully.
She pretended to sleep and kept her ears trained for any sound. She knew that her father snuck off once a month into the woods. Of course, her and her brother were curious, but mother always said it was dangerous and that they should never follow him. Benji was only eight, but his curiosity had gotten the better of him.
[Name] heard the silent creak of the back door and she pushed her covers off of her and looked out her window. She had the perfect view of the woods and she saw Benji running as the moonlight gave him away. She watched as he ran into the forest, disappearing behind the trees. She heard his screams, the terror.
She ran into her mother's room and tried to shake her awake. But she was out cold. She was fatigued. There was nothing [Name] could do. She loved Benji very much, but she would never disobey her mother. She ran back into her room and peered out the window. The moon was ever so bright and shone its light onto two figures. One was the size of a small boy running, and the other was a wolf.
[Name] gasped. There was something familiar about that wolf. Its coat was the same shade of brown as her dad's. It couldn't be...her father was the wolf and he was chasing Benji. His son. She couldn't process what was happening, she was only four after all.
"Benji!" She cried, opening her window, hoping her brother could make it in time. But the wolf had heard her cry and looked up at her. It seemed to forget about her brother and looked like it was ready to climb the two-story house and jump into her room.
"No!" Benji yelled. He stood in front of their father, protecting his younger sister. She started crying. She didn't want her brother to come to harm. She watched as the wolf pounced, pinning him to the ground. And she watched helplessly as Benji's neck was slashed.

[Name]'s mother stood in front of her. Not letting the tears escape her eyes. She had just buried Benji and watched as the love of her life left after killing her only son. She watched as the blood rushed out of her and she felt the life leave her stomach.
"Obliviate." She waved her wand and watched as her daughter's once distraught face, turned into a happy expression.
"Mummy!" [Name] cried, wrapping her small arms around her mother's legs. She'd never have to know the pain of losing her brother and father, her unborn sister. Her family.
"I promise, I'll give you a better life." Her mother whispered as she stroked the young girl's hair. They would leave this place and the memories it held. They'd flee and she'd train her daughter to be the best witch possible, making sure her memories would never return.
