Yoongi-
"Lemme get a picture Jungkook!" Auntie says. "Go stand next to Yoongi."
Jungkook sighs and steps onto the porch and stands next to me. He's dressed up nicely. He almost looks like me. He's wearing all black, but so am I. Only I'm swearing a cap and gown.
Auntie snaps a few photos with her outdated camera. She's already cried a few times this morning, like when she was making breakfast. She looks at the photos. "Oh my boys." She covers her mouth. "I can't believe my little Yoongi is finally graduating."
"Yeah, a year late," Jungkook sneers.
I hit his arm. "Shut it."
"Okay let's get going," Auntie says. I sit in the front seat. She holds my hand all the way to the high school. Jimin is leaving in a week. She knows how hard it is on the both of us.
She drops us off at the front and goes to find a parking spot. Taehyung is waiting for us at the doors. He hugs me tightly. "I can't believe you are graduating! It's like yesterday you were smoking outside of the school and I thought you were so cool. Now I know you're just a softie."
"Hey, get off," I mumble, but hugging him more. "You're embarrassing."
He split apart. "The rest of the graduates are in the lunch room. Come on Kookie. Let's go sit down."
I walk to the lunch room. All of my class is in there. Namjoon, Jimin, and Hoseok are sitting on the table. Hoseok sees me and smiles. I dog over to them. "Hey," I say.
"Aye, we boutta graduate!" Hoseok says.
"I swear to god. Don't say that again," Namjoon says.
I sit next to Jimin. "Are you ready?" I ask.
He nods. "Ready as I'll ever be."
I kiss his shoulder. It's going to be okay. We'll be okay. "Just think, you are going to be out of this shit hole soon. You deserve to go to Juilliard."
He nods. "Yeah, but it's going to be hard." He has tears I his eyes.
"No, baby. Don't cry," I say. I wipe his tears. "We can cry after. But not now."
The English teacher comes in and lines us up. I'm next to a girl that I don't know the name of. Her makeup is slightly smudged from crying. I guess it's an emotional time for everyone. We walk into the gymnasium where the ceremony is. I easily spot Auntie sitting next to Jimin's parents, Hoseok and Namjoon's parents are also sitting by them. Taehyung, Jungkook, and Jin are sitting in front of them. Cameras are flashing and the room is almost silent. The only sound is the graduation song that the band is playing.
I sit down in my chair. Jimin is in the row behind me. The principal talks for a while before Namjoon gives a speech. A few other really smart kids give a speech. Then the choir sings. Soon, names are being called to receive their diploma. It's alphabetical order. I hear Taehyung screaming when Hoseok gets his. He's smiling brightly at the bleachers. Taehyung is also screaming when Namjoon gets his, But Jungkook is added. He's looks very smart and sophisticated in his gown. My names called not long after. I walk up into the stage. The principal shakes my hand and gives me my diploma. I can hear Auntie cheering. Taehyung and Jungkook too. I look into the crowd and see Jimin. He has tears in his eyes but he's clapping with a smile on his face. I almost trip on my way back to my chair. Luckily no one was paying attention. I sit down and wait until it's Jimin's turn.
He walks up to the stage. Shakes hands with the principal and receives his diploma. It's official. He's leaving me. He's graduated. I clap and 'woop'. Taehyung and Jin clap like fools and cheer for him. Jimin has a bright smile even though his eyes are teary. He sits down and the ceremony continues.
I don't pay attention after that. It ends quickly. People I never talk to congratulate me and we take photos together. I find Jimin in the crowd. The moment he sees me, he smiles and runs over to me. I hug him. "Congratulations lovely," I say. "We did it."
"Yeah." He sounds so far. Is he already in New York?
I kiss him. "I'm so proud."
"I'm proud of you. You finally graduated. My little genius."
I can't stop grinning. I see Taehyung and Jin coming our way. "Watch out." I warn
Taehyung almost knocks Taehyung off his feet. "I can't believe you're leaving me! My baby is so grown up!" He yells.
Jin hugs the two of them. "I'm so proud of you Jimie."
Jimin giggles. "Thank you Jin."
"My little boy is graduated and moving to New York," the oldest squeezes him tightly. "You make us all so happy, Jimin."
Jimin pulls away and wipes his eyes. "Thank you. I love you guys so much."
The other boys find us. I hug Hoseok and Namjoon tightly. They've been my best friends for a while. There's no way I could've made it without them. Jungkook hugs me and says he's envious that I graduated.
Jimin's mom and Auntie come to us. "Okay, pictures!" Auntie says. She makes all of us get together for photos. Then in smaller groups; me, Namjoon, and Hoseok. Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook. Jimin and I, Tae and Hoseok, Namjoon and Kookie. There's a lot of photos taken.
Jimin invites me to stay at his house. I say yes. We ride with his parents home. We go up to his room and to his bed. He lays on top of me after we change into regular clothes. His head laid on my chest, my arms around his waist.
"I love you."
" I love you too, Yoongi."
