For my main girl who has always supported me no matter what Megz_Megz05

"Daddy do I look pretty?" I turned around to see (Y/N) standing in a black and white lace dress and some black buckle shoes.

"The prettiest little girl I've ever seen!" I said picking her up and giving her a hug.

"You look prettier daddy." I chuckled and kissed the side of her head.

"Thank you darling," I said before placing her down on my bed. I turned back to the mirror and adjusted my tie. My eyes resembled a pandas, I sighed and turned back to (Y/N).

"Right missy, lets get your hair done then we need to go." She nodded and stood up on the bed.

"Can I have bunchies please?"

"Of course darling."

After I finished her hair I carried her downstairs. As I put my shoes on the doorbell rung.

"Grandad's here!" (Y/N) yelled staring out the window. I picked her up and opened the door.

"Hello darling, my how big you've gotten!" Dad said taking her off my hands. I locked the house up and walked with them to the car.

As we set off dad looked at my briefly before looking back at the road.

"Have you slept?" I shook my head. "Eaten?" I shook again.

The rest of the car journey consisted of my father and I sitting in silence while (Y/N) sung to the radio.

When we arrived everyone else was waiting outside. I grabbed (Y/N) out of the car and held her close to me and we joined the group. People would stare at us and give a small smile if they made eye contact with me.

Meg and Gavin came over both of them giving us hugs. (Y/N) stretched her arms out for Gabin, wiggling out of my grip. Having took her and they started chatting away about her hair and shoes.

"Do you want me to take her when we go in?" Meg asked.

"Yes please," I said quietly. I look back over at Gavin and (Y/N). "He's gonna make a really good dad one day." Meg turned around and chuckled.

"Hopefully one day."

"Trevor?" I turned around to see my dad. "Ready?" I nodded. I wasn't really but I didn't have a choice. Meg took (Y/N) off Gavin and walked inside with everyone else.

Gavin and I walked over to the car, some of her family standing there too. I don't think they've slept either. Tears pricked my eyes as I looked at the flowers. They were her favourites.

As we carried her in I couldn't take my eyes off (Y/N), she gave a small wave and smiled at me. I smiled back, I didn't like her seeing me sad.

As we sat down (Y/N) climbed onto my lap. I wrapped my arms around her, holding her tight.

"Daddy..." she whispered, "what's in that?"

"It's.... mummy is in there sweetheart." I said as tears escaped my eyes.

"Is she forever sleeping?"

"Yes darling."

After the service we went to Burnies for the service. I stayed with her parents for most of the time. People occasionally came up to me and gave me their condolences. I just put on a brave face. It's what she would have wanted.

(Y/N) was playing with Iris and Lindsay, she seemed okay, I don't think she fully understood that she wasn't coming back.

By about four I decided to leave. I said my goodbyes and took (Y/N) and I home. (Y/N) was silent the entire way home. Once we got home I turned on the tv on for her while I cooked some pasta for our dinner. I peered out of the kitchen to check on her occasionally, she was sitting on the floor holding something, staring at it. I served up our pasta and went to grab her when I saw what she had.

She was staring at a photo of us on our wedding day. I sat down next to her and pulled her onto my lap.

"Daddy?"

"Yes darling?"

"I miss Mummy." I squeezed her tight, kissing the top of her head.

"So do I sweetheart, but she's in the clouds looking down on us, making sure we are safe and happy." (Y/N) stood up and toddled over to the window and looked up at the sky. I wiped some tears out of my eyes and joined her.

"I can't see her."

"We won't be able to, but she can see us. And she loves us, so very much and that will never change." I looked at her, tears falling from her beautiful brown eyes. I felt useless, there was no way of making it easy for her. (Y/N) was too young to understand the full truth. One day I'd be able to tell her but not for a while.

I wiped away her tears and gave a small smile.

"It's okay darling, I know you miss her but it's going to be okay. We gotta be happy for Mummy, she wouldn't want you to be upset." (Y/N) nodded and wiped a tear from my eye before smiling.

"Can we watch Lilo and Stitch while we have dinner please?" I chuckled and nodded.

"Of course we can!" I yelled before picking her up and spinning her around like a rocket.

After dinner we were both pretty exhausted, I was washing up the dishes while (Y/N) got into her pyjamas. I walked into my room to see (Y/N) standing on a chair at the window.

"Night night Mummy, sleep tight, don't let the cloud bugs bite," she said before clambering down the chair and into my bed. I changed into some pyjamas and climbed into bed, snuggling up to my little girl.

"Good night Daddy."

"Good Night (Y/N)."
