Melissa's POV

"I love it," he says. "My little Willow."
I smile at him as he processes the name of his daughter.

"Okay, so the crib is," he starts while walking over to see the crib still in pieces. "Currently not put together."

"I made a doctors appointment for tomorrow if you want to see her again," I tell him as he puts away his clothes.
"You know I do."
"I know. How was New York?" I ask, sitting down on the only chair in the room.

"Great," he says, turning around to face me. "They're going to make my story a short film."

"Chris!" I tell, covering my mouth with my hands. "That's awesome!"
"I know. I'll have to go back in 5 months, so hopefully she doesn't take too long to come into the world."
"If she's old enough to, and I don't have to work we could come with you," I suggest.
"That would be so great. I very much dislike sleeping alone in hotels."
I laugh a little and manage an, "okay."

Chris's POV

Traveling is tiring if you don't sleep on all your flights. So I'm not tired.

After Melissa falls asleep, I silently get out of bed and start taking pieces of the crib into the living room.

When I get all the parts out, I whisper goodnight and close the doors.

In the living room, I switch on a light, find the instructions sheet and start reading.

By 1 in the morning I have a finished crib standing before me.

I sigh, putting down the tools and go to the kitchen to get some water. That's when I see Melissa's list of names sitting by her laptop.

It reads,  first names: Amelia, Ivy, Hadley, Charlotte and Willow.
middle names: Jade, Grace, Anne, Joy and Katherine

Out of all the first names I do like Willow the best. I smile that she wrote Ivy even though she did not like the name at all.

I set down the paper and put my empty glass of water by the sink.

Not wanting to wake Melissa by sneaking back into bed, I decide to just sleep on the couch.
I turn off the light, grab a blanket from the basket that we keep blankets in and slide onto the couch for the night.

I wonder how much sleep we will get after Willow is born. I estimate probably not a lot and drift asleep knowing I should cherish a quiet apartment while there is one.

Melissa's POV

When I wake the next morning, he is not next to me. I steadily get of bed.

I take note of the fact that the pieces for the crib are no longer on the floor by Chris' side of the bed.

I open the door and see the crib in the daylight, white and glowing in the morning sun.

I then notice a sleeping Chris on the couch, wrapped in a homemade blanket.

I settle in a chair with a book while I wait for him to wake, smiling.
