Chris's POV

I wake to the sound of Melissa's voice saying, "today is the day!"
I sit up in bed. "Today?"

She stops a few feet away from me. "I'm going to prove you wrong about our baby's gender."
"It's a boy," I say faintly, still half asleep.
"I'm not so sure about that," she says as she leaves the room.

At breakfast, all three of us sit together for a change.

"Willow," I say. "Do you think your mom is having a boy or a girl?"
"Girl," she says without looking up from her drawing.
"See," Melissa says, patting Willow's back.
"We'll see, we will see," I whisper.

Melissa's POV

My appointment isn't until four o'clock in the afternoon, which is disappointing. I would much rather just make sure everything is okay and find out the gender sooner in the day, so I won't have to think about it all day.

It's decently gloomy day in Los Angeles today, so Chris, Willow and I have taken it upon ourselves to have a movie marathon until it's time to leave.

Willow is sitting in the middle of us. Me on the right, Chris on the left.

"I don't like that one," complains Willow. "It's too scary."
"Okay, miss. It's not that scary, but we can watch another one if you want," Chris says.

"That one! That one! That one!" Willow says as she points at the screen frantically.
"Alright, alright," I say as Chris clicks on the not-so-entertaining kids movie with talking animals.

By the time four o'clock rolls around, I really don't care if I go to the appointment or not.

"Melissa, come on. Let's go," Chris urges, his hands outstretched to help me off the couch.
"It's no bother," I say.
"Yes. It is. Get up."
"Humph."

We get to the doctors shortly before four.

"Melissa?" The doctor calls.

I stand up. Chris is by my side with Willow in him arms.

"How are you doing today?" the tech asks when we enter the room.
"Good, thank you," I say.

"Just go ahead and sit down there," she says, pointing to the paper-covered table.
I lay down on it.

"Today you want to know if is a boy or girl. Correct?" she asks.
"Yes," I say, my voice small.

She rubs the gel on my bump and the baby appears in the screen shortly after.
A minute or two go by. "It looks like a girl."

Chris makes a defeated sound from behind me. I look up at him and mouth. "I told you so."
"Whatever," he laughs.

"Everything else looks good," the tech says.
"Okay, thanks," I say.

She hands me a cloth and then goes to the other side of the room.

"You're always right," Chris tells me.
"I know," I say, smiling at him.

Almost everyone saw that one coming:)
