Only You

Riley P.O.V

"Do you wanna go with me?" His voice echos in my mind
"Cash..." I let his hand go. His blue eyes stare through my soul. Saddest eyes I've ever seen.
"Riley..." I look up, tearing up.
"Riley.." he says louder
"RILEY!"

I wake up.
"Audrey!!" I groan, "hey cmon let's go get brunch!" She says trying to motivate me.
"Okay" I say sitting up.
Audrey leaves my room and heads to hers.
I get out of bed and look in my closet
Blue shirt and white yoga pants should be fine.
I toss my hair up and put my sunglasses on.
"Okay let's go" I say standing in Audrey's doorway.

We head out and walk down the street.
We live by a bunch of coffee shops and tiny stores and restaurants.
We go to our favorite one Larry's Diner.
(Which no one named Larry actually works in)
We take our usual seats in our usual booth and start with coffee.

"So Riley" Audrey says obviously leading up to something, "yes?" I say sipping my coffee.
"I have some news and I'm not sure how to say it.. soo, I'm just going to say it" she pauses, I look at her.
"Cash, is coming back"

My. Heart. Drops.
"W..when?" I ask trying to breathe. Shocked.
"Today, er.. night— I heard from ya know his Instagram story" she says,
"I never check Instagram anymore."

The waitress comes at our table
"Morning Riley, Audrey. The usual?" She asks
"Yes," Audrey says.
"Uh.. yeah" I say.
She walks away.

"Audrey... I haven't seen him in a year since he-" she cuts me off, "I know but he's coming back, maybe for you" she suggests.
I sigh. "And you JUST heard this?" I ask.
She shows me the story he posted.
"Fuck" I sigh, I miss him so much but I won't admit it."Well I don't wanna see him."
"Riley, look Sean is throwing a welcome home party when Cash arrives, I'm going and I think you should too" she says looking at me serious.
I stay silent.

"Riley.. come on!"
"No Cash! Just go!"

I zone back in.

"Fine" I say.
"He asked me how you are." She says, our food arrives to the table.
I have eggs, hash browns and bacon, she has crepes, eggs and bacon. We both have coffee.
"Well what'd you say?" I ask eager
"That you're fine" she says.
I nod, and start eating.. more like picking at it.

we finish up and leave.

We start walking around the block, Cash coming back... why?
He wanted to 'chase his dream' why's he coming home? And will he stay?

"Audrey I just don't think I'm ready to see him yet.." I say frowning
"Riley, look we are gonna go but we can leave whenever you want okay? Now let's go shop!" She says trying to motivate me
I groan, "ugh"
"Riley cmon" she gives me 'the look'
"Fine" I roll my eyes agreeing with her.

We go shopping and I pick a nice dress for when we go to the party.
We leave and head back home.

Once home I go to my room and put my dress in the closet.

My phone buzzes

Cash: hey..

I ignore the notification and throw my phone in the bed and stare out my window.
Zoning out.

"So this is it?" He yelled. His voice was breaking.. his eyes filled with tears.
I had to look away. Cause I was already crying.
"Cash... you're leaving ME!" I yelled and tried to keep it together. He tried to get me to look at him but I wouldn't.
"Just go..." I cried.
Riley I-"
"GO CASH!" I yelled, I closed my eyes. Back turned.
He walked away as the door slammed.
I turned around.. crying my eyes out, sobbing. Fell to the floor.. "Cash..."
he was gone.

I zone back in. I clear my throat and wipe my tears away.

I look at his notification and swipe it away.
I'm over it. I swear.

I walk into the bathroom, closing the door and hop in the shower.
All I can think of anymore is the last fight we had before he left, we ended things really bad. Well he did... he left. He wanted to follow his dream and get famous, he wanted me to go but I couldn't, I have too much here at home.
I loved him so much but... it's been a year. I have to be strong and get through seeing him tonight, doesn't mean I have to talk to him.
Right?

I hop out the shower, and head to my room and get dressed.
I start drying my hair, it's 3 in the afternoon.
I have no clue when this party is but I might as week start on my hair ya know? It takes the longest time versus my dress and makeup shit.
I decide to curl it.

My phone buzzes again it's Sean

Sean: WELCOME CASH BACK HOME HOTEL PARTY AT ROYALE SUITE TONIGHT! SUITE 114 TOP FLOOR! STARTS AT 8!

I have time to think, very little though.
