chapter 23 - i need him

Wyatt Pov

I jump up from my peaceful sleep to hear an agonizingly painful scream. I let a sad sigh leave my mouth and I scoot closer to Y/N. I push her closer to my chest and she grabs on tightly to my shirt. I feel her tears soak my shirt but I don't mind she's in pain and I want to be here for her.

This has been going on for a week, she's been having terrible nightmares and I don't know what to do. I don't know how to help her. She won't let anyone but me hold her, she pushed away her mom and Benny is too scared to try and do anything. He didn't get mad at Y/N for pushing their mom, he understood that she was sad and confused, and besides their mom didn't get that hurt, she was just shocked.

"H-He l-lef-ft m-me, he l-le-eft me." She can't speak right due to her crying.

"Shhh, it's okay. I'm here, i'm here Y/N." I kiss the top of her head and rock her back and forward slowly.

"I n-ne-eed h-him." This breaks my heart. She misses him so much. How though? He's hurt her so much, why is she so attached? She's slept with thousands of people why is Finn so different?

"Just go to sleep, please Y/N." She continues to cry into my shirt and doesn't say anything else.

I look up to see Y/Ns mom at her doorway with a sad expression. I see Benny behind her a few feet away.

I look down at Y/N, she's still crying and holding on tight to me. I hate seeing her like this, it was never this bad before.

Y/Ns finally asleep and i'm relieved. She wakes up screaming every morning and it's terrifying to wake up to. I haven't left the house in a month and I just need to see the sun and get a drink I just can't stay cooped up in this house. I'll come back I just want to go out for a bit.

I grab my phone and the bright light burns my eyes. My eyes adjust and I look at the time.

9:00 AM

Maybe I could go out of a bit. Y/N might be asleep for a couple of hours.

I get up from the bed careful not to wake Y/N up and put a clean shirt on and walk up to her bedroom door.

"Wyatt?" I hear Y/Ns raspy morning voice and I slowly turn around to see her on her elbows looking at me confused.

"Hey, beautiful." I walk back over to the bed and sit by her.

"Where are you going?" She looks sad and scared and it hurts me.

"I was just going out for a bit, i'm kinda hungry."

"B-But Mama can make you something to eat." She doesn't want me to leave but I just need to drive around a bit and think.

"I'll be back Y/N, don't worry. I'm not going to leave you."

"You promise?" She wraps her tiny fingers around my hand and her eyes gloss over with tears.

"I promise. Go back to bed and I'll be back by the time you wake up, okay." I kiss the top of her head and get up.

"Okay." She lays back down and snuggles up into the bed.

"I'll be back." I walk out of her room and close the door slowly.

I rub my face out of stress and let out a sigh.

She can't be alone, she needs someone to be here with her or she's going to freak out.

I walk over to Benny's room and slowly knock on his door.

The door opens and Benny looks at me confused, probably because i'm not in Y/Ns room, "Where are you going? Why are not in Y/Ns room?"

"I need you to stay with Y/N while i'm gone." I look at him with seriousness in my eyes.

"Why? Where are you going? When are you coming back?" He sounds scared and panicked.

"I'm only going to be gone for a couple of hours maybe only two."

"Why are you going?"

"I just need to get out for a bit and think you know?"

"Okay, w-what do I need to do?"

"You just need to stay in the room with her, if she wakes up from a dream screaming just hold her, okay. Tell her that everything is going to be fine."

"W-What if she pushes me away?"

"Just call me and give Y/N the phone I'll talk to her while I'll come back."

"O-Okay."

I walk away from Benny and walk to the door. I'm scared that Y/N is going to hurt herself but I just need to clear my head.

Benny Pov

I place my hand on the cold doorknob of Y/Ns door and slowly twist it open. I can barely see anything, it's so dark. I squint my eyes, and see Y/N on her bed asleep, she's so peaceful when she's sleeping. No crying, screaming, fighting, she's just her.

I walk fully into her room and slowly close the door behind me, I don't want to make a lot of noise, i'm afraid to wake her up. I carefully walk over to the left side of her bed and lay down. I stare up at the ceiling and just think about how messed up my life is, how everything has gone wrong. I wish I could do more for Y/N. Help her more. But I don't know how.

"Finn?"

"Finn!?"

"FINN!"

"FINN!"

I jump up from my sleep and Y/N is shaking and thrashing around, yelling out for someone named Finn. I think I've heard that name before.

I wrap my arms around Y/N tightly and try to calm her down.

"W-Wyatt? You're h-here?" She sounds scared and is crying her eyes out again.

"N-No i-it's me, Benny." I hold my sister and try my best to comfort her.

"B-Benny? What are you-- Where's- Benny?" She doesn't say one clear sentence. I feel her hands grip onto my t-shirt and she cries into my chest.

"Y-Yeah it's me, don't worry. I'm here for you, Wyatts going to come back." I rub her back reassuringly.

"I-I'm s-sorry Benny, f-fo-or e-eve-erything." I shake my head and let a smile sad laugh out.

"N-No, no, it's okay. You're okay. I'm sorry, i'm sorry for everything, everything I've done, everything I've said, i'm sorry. I love you sister."

"I-I l-love you too Benny.

The door bursts open and here comes Wyatt. Y/N look over too the door and jumps out of my arms. She gets out of bed and jumps onto Wyatt.

"H-He l-le-eft me again W-Wya-att. H-He l-lef-ft me." I sit up in the bed and look at Wyatt with a worried expression.

"This isn't okay anymore Y/N. We need to stop these dreams." Wyatt pushes Y/N away holding onto her shoulders and looks at her tear-drenched face.

"I meet someone while I was out, he's having a party tonight, we're going."

I don't think this is a good idea.
