Jungkook nervously looked back at me before turning back to face the waitress. He said, "Um, hi, ARMY. What's your name?"
The waitress replied, "Souja. I am such a huge fan of yours! Can I get an autograph please?"
Jungkook looked back at me again with a smile. "Sure!"
The waitress took a page from her order sheets and handed it to him with her pen. After he signed it for her, she looked back at the table. Her face grew very pale.
"Oh! I'm sorry. I totally interrupted your breakfast with your girlfriend." she sincerely apologized.
Jungkook laughed. "Don't sweat it. And she's not my girlfriend."
"Not yet." She smirked at him. "I saw the way you were looking back at her. And how she's looking at you now. Well, I gotta get back to work."
"It was very nice meeting you," he replied as she walked off.
He returned to the table and I stood up.
"Ok, are we ready to go?" I asked.
We all stood up and walked out of the restaurant. We decided to walk around a bit before heading back to the apartment. We walked by a toy shop.
"Can we go inside, Cassie? Please? Can I just look around?" Angie begged.
Sarah quickly offered, "I'll take her! You and Jungkook can walk around a bit. I promise, I've got her."
They ran inside before I could object. Jungkook motioned forward and I began walking.
"So," he said.
"So?" I asked, looking up at him.
"How long have you been here?" He kept his eyes locked on me as he spoke.
"About 4 years." I stuck my hands in my jean pockets.
"Well, since you're obviously not originally from here. Tell me about yourself."
"What do you want to know?" I looked down at the ground.
"What was your childhood like? Are you happy with where you are today? What are your deepest secrets?" He sounded really curious.
I began to tell him all about the military and where I had lived before. He seemed to want every detail.
When I had finished, Jungkook kicked at a rock on the sidewalk. He cleared his throat before he spoke again.
"Is there anyone special in your life at the moment?"
I laughed, "That depends. What do you mean by special?"
He shrugged a bit. "Like, friends?"
I glanced at him and cocked an eyebrow up.
He said a bit quieter, "A guy maybe?"
I giggled and explained to him, "I was raised to keep people, especially guys, at a distance. Not because I wanted to, but because...because we may have to move again."
I looked down again.
Jungkook nodded and asked with a sly smirk, "So...you're single?"
I giggled a bit. "As a pringle."
He smiled and looked away. He turned away for something, but I walked on. Suddenly, I felt him brush against my left side. I turned to him. He was holding a small bouquet of flowers.
"Here. These are for you. But they don't do that gorgeous smile on your face justice," Jungkook flirted.
"Oh, shut up." I made a goofy grin.
He and I walked side by side for awhile, discussing our different senses of style and favorite music. All along the way, Jungkook would nudge against me and I'd nudge him back.
Eventually, he pushed me hard enough that I stopped walking, turned to him, and bust out laughing. He turned to face me, a smile starting to form on his face again.
"Are you alright?" he asked.
"Never better," I answered.
He stepped closer to me and placed his hand on the side of my neck. I felt my breath disappear as he leaned in close and pressed his lips against mine.
It didn't feel real. It couldn't be real. Jungkook? Was kissing me? I didn't know what else to do so I placed my hand on his neck.
We stayed that way for awhile. I didn't want in to end. But then a large group of people began crowding around us, taking pictures and asking us questions.
