The sky was starting to darken and I was still on the balcony. I refused to move even if it was starting to get cold. I rested my head against the side of the house and closed my eyes.
"You okay?" Ashton asked. I jumped a little and my eyes flew open.
"Don't do that!" I said. I settled back into my fetal position and closed my eyes. "What do you want? Did Dana send you up here? You're supposed to be resting," I mumbled sourly. I didn't want to see anyone. Not even Ashton.
"I just wanted to make sure you're okay. I haven't seen you around the house all day," Ashton said. He slid down the wall and sat next to me on the stone cold ground.
"I'm fine. Now will you leave? Please?" I asked.
"Dana told me what happened between you two," Ashton started.
"Wonderful. Now get out," I snapped. Unfortunately Ashton knew how sour I could be so he ignored me.
"I'm sure she didn't mean it," Ashton tried again.
"Well she was right about it. Come on they've been gone for a month and a half. They don't care about me and they would put me in an insane asylum if I told them about my ability. She was right, so will you leave now?" I asked. Sadness was starting to seep into me.
"No, I will not leave," Ashton said. He put a hand on my shoulder and drew back almost instantly. "You're freezing!"
"Don't care. Get out," I said, emotionless.
"Wren!" Ashton said. I ignored him and stared at the darkening sky.
"Carlo also told me-,"
"That's perfect! Now get out! I've had enough lectures today!" I half yelled. Ashton withdrew a little.
"Don't let Carlo get to you. Accidents happen-,"
"Like me?" I asked, half humor half not. Ashton ignored me and kept talking.
"You don't need to punish yourself because of an accident," Ashton said. I shrugged and looked towards the place where the sun had set. There was a ring around the hill the sun had disappeared behind and as you looked farther up in the sky the color went from yellow, to orange, to dark red, to dark blue, to purple, to a black. There were stars beginning to appear in the sky.
"I'm not punishing myself, I'd just rather not see anyone at the moment. That kind of includes you," I mumbled. I was starting to go numb.
"I do not care if you want me to leave or not because I'm not going anywhere," Ashton said. He wrapped his arm around me and pulled me closer to him.
"I insist that you leave," I said. I was still not wanting Ashton there and I knew what he was trying to do.
Ashton wrapped his other arm around me.
"Nope, get out," I said.
Ashton sighed and looked at my eyes. Before I knew what he was doing he was kissing me. My eyes fell closed and I leaned into the kiss.
We broke apart and he looked at me and said, "How about now?"
I smiled at him and laid my head on his shoulder. "I guess you can stay for a while,"
I'm not sure how long we stayed like that but I knew that I fell into a deep sleep.

"Wren! Thwigs! We need to move fast!" Dana said, shaking me awake. My head flew off of my pillow and I sat up instantly. Ashton was sitting on the bed besides me with fear in his eyes.
