*One year later*
Everything went back to normal after that. Or at least as normal as possible. Dana, Ashton, Brooke, Brendan, and I all went to school in the town a few miles away. Dana, Ashton, and I finished our senior year and graduated. We are now planning for what colleges we all want to go to.
Carlo runs wild with Noah, Zed, Hugo, Fern, Delia, Xavier, and Stella. Every once in a while I see them as I walk through the forest. Always in their animal forms and riding the country of the few Thwigs that are left.
Will is as normal as any of us. He and Dana are officially a couple so of course I see Will more than I would have thought. I'm not quite sure what he does but I suspect it has something to do with the AOAC. He was never really into the idea of giving up shifting forever.
Ashton moved out of his house with his dad and now lives in my house. His dad was arrested for abuse and excessive drinking. Ashton and I are a couple and have been for over a year.
Brendan and Brooke were both taken in by Dana's parents and they are in their Sophomore year of school. After school they both want to live with Carlo and help him destroy the last Thwigs.
My parents never came home. I didn't really expect them to though. I don't know where they are, but every week I get a large amount of money from an unknown source.
Dana and I are still best friends. Her, Ashton, and I hang out quite frequently as we used to, although now we all have more scars and aren't quite as innocent as before.
Finally, I do what everyone else does. I fill out college applications and watch Tv. Every now and then my mind would drift back to the past events. It all seems so close. Almost like everything had happened the day before.
Ashton, Dana, and I don't shift anymore. We haven't for a long time. It's almost like we all went back to normal, even though we have our eyes to prove that that's a lie. None of us have pursued the demons that we know are still lurking out there. We know that there is no reason to. We have all wanted to be normal and for once, and now, we have the chance to accomplish that.
Our animal selves are sometimes noticeable in the way we talk, walk, or just react to stuff. We all have better hearing than normal and all that, but we are getting there, slowly.
We will never really be normal humans, and we know that. We all long to shift sometimes. To feel the dirt beneath our paws and the wind in our fur. I suppose it's just a natural part of us. A part of us that will always be there.
But if being normal means giving that stuff up, I don't think any of us want that. I guess there will always be a part of us like that.
Like an Animagus.

I hope you all enjoyed reading about Wren's journey as much as I enjoyed writing it.
So, thank you all.
