Over the rest of my winter break, I'd been in New York quite frequently for every modeling and acting job I could get. 

I was making so many new friends, but there was one particular girl that I bonded with.

Her name was Avery and she was two years older than me. She dropped out a college after a month and went to pursue her modeling career which worked out for her.

You couldn't go three blocks without seeing some ad campaign she was in, plus she even walked for Victoria's Secret.

"Do you wanna go to a party tonight?" Avery asked me as we wrapped up a shoot

"There's gonna be tons of agencies there, plus it's gonna be so much fun."She went on

She knew an agency is what I needed if I actually wanted to be successful in this industry.

I nodded, "Sounds fun."

"Cool, I'll come swing by your hotel and pick you up at ten." Avery informed me

Ten?

I'd already been up since six in the morning, but I needed this

"Yeah, sounds good." I agreed

"I'll see you later." Avery waved goodbye

I got a taxi back to my hotel, I took a quick shower, and I started getting ready for the party.

I straightened my hair, did my makeup, and put on a black satin mini dress with black heels. 

Please let this be a life changing night.

I didn't want to be known as Grier Johnson's little sister or the guy who won the super bowl three times daughter. I just wanted to be Holland.

And I was going to get that no matter what it took.

To mu surprise, Avery picked me up in a limo, which had a fully stocked mini bar even though I couldn't drink.

"We're gonna have a good time tonight, I'll introduce you to some cool people." She spoke as she drank champagne

"Do you think I could really make it?" I asked her

She nodded, "For sure, if Sienna Jettings made it, then you can too. I know you can though. You're so pretty and tall and you're nice."

Sienna Jettings was also from an affluent family. Her older sister, Savanna got fame when her sex tape with Sam Westley, who was a married man, got leaked. 

But Savanna being a Jettings took full advantage of her fame. 

She started modeling and acting, she got her family a show (that only lasted three seasons) that made the Jettings name well known.

Sienna wasn't loved by most models considering she barely had to work for anything, but I guess I could somewhat understand her struggle.

But I didn't want to be a mini Sienna and get everything handed to me, I wanted to work my way to the top.

"Thanks, Avs." I smiled

"So, when ae you moving to the city? You could stay with me for a while." She spoke

I  shrugged, "Whenever I decide to drop out of college."

"When are you doing that?" Avery wondered

"I have no idea. My family is going to be so pissed, but I need to do what I need to do. I can always go back." I thought aloud 

Avery nodded, "True."
