I heard a knock on my apartment door and I opened it.
"Hey." I greeted Avery
"I got you an acai bowl." She chirped as she walked in
Avery handed me the acai bowl, looked at the suitcase, and looked back at me.
"Where are you going?" Avery asked me as I shut the door
I sat down on the couch and opened the acai bowl.
"I'm going to visit Ryder's family in Georgia. I'm so nervous now I see how he felt. What if they don't like me? What if they think I'm too young for him?" I thought out loud to Avery
She sat next to me, "I think they'll love you. I mean that boy loves you and it's not like you have bad intentions with him."
"Dating is just so different at this age. I have such strong feelings about him, Avery. It's kinda scary to think about the things I would do for him. I know we haven't been together for a long time, but Avs." I gushed about Ryder
"You're so in love with him, aww, Holland. How long are you guys staying?" Avery asked as I ate
"Four days, but enough about me, what's going on with you?" I shifted on the couch
Avery had a smirk on her face and her cheeks were red.
"Avery." I spoke with my voice trailing off
"Diego and I, um, hooked up." She informed me
My eyes got wide, "Shut up, I didn't even know you had feelings for him like that."
"My science with you and Ryder kinda backfired on me, because when I saw you guys kissed, it made me feel like Ryder. I just hid it better." Avery began
"Are you guys gonna get together? Like boyfriend and girlfriend?" I grinned
Avery shrugged, "We're just kinda talking right now, but I hope so."
"I'm so excited for you two, double dates are in the near future." I smirked
Avery crossed her fingers, "Hopefully."
Then the door opened and in walked Ryder with bags from a store.
I forgot I asked him to pick up a few things for me.
"Hey, baby, I got your things." Ryder spoke as he kissed my forehead
I smiled at him, "Thank you."
"Hey, Diego." He waved to Avery
Avery gently hit him, "Shut up, how'd you even get in?"
"My girlfriend gave me a key, so here I am. Wait, you and Diego should come to dinner with Holland and me tonight. It's low key so no need to dress up." He explained to her
She lifted her chin and shrugged, "I don't know. I don't want it to get awkward."
"It won't." I assured her, "It's going to be fun. We're just gonna go bowling and then go somewhere to eat."
"Diego is already on board." Ryder added
I gave Avery my best 'please come, I'm begging you' look.
She sighed, "Ok. I'm gonna go now to find an outfit. I'll see you two later."
Avery walked out of my apartment and I stood up to walk over to Ryder
He wrapped his arms around me and hugged me.
"Are you nervous for tomorrow?" He asked me as I wrapped my arms around him
"Kind of, but I'm excited to meet your family and see where you grew up." I spoke
