On April twenty-first, I woke up to flowers on the floor that lead me to the kitchen. There was Ryder still in his pajamas. The breakfast table was set up with fresh flowers, a card, and breakfast.
"Ryder James," I spoke groggily
"Happy one year, angel," Ryder said as he wrapped his arms around me
I wrapped my arms around him.
365 days with my best friend.
365 days of good days, bad days, challenging days, but I didn't wanna be with any other guy.
I love falling asleep next to him every night, waking up to him every morning, making dinner with him, I loved it all.
All of the good parts and bad parts.
"I never thought we would be here a year ago," I spoke as I sat down at the table
Ryder sat across from me as we began to eat breakfast.
"I can't believe all that we've been through in 365 days like damn," Ryder said as he ate his pancakes,
"I know." I agreed, "I wouldn't wanna do it with anyone else."
I held Ryder's hand, "I'm so happy I went to that party, but I'm really happy I went to your birthday party."
"Oh hell yeah." He agreed, "You ready for the Queen concert tonight?"
"So fucking excited even if Freddie won't be there," I answered him
Ryder and I finished eating breakfast, cleaned up the apartment, and then opened each other's gift.
Ryder got me a photo frame with twelve pictures, a picture for every month. He poured his heart out to me in a card and a blanket with a cheesy picture of us.
We had a chill day until it was time to get ready for the Queen concert.
The concert was amazing, I just couldn't wait for Ryder's return to the stage in just four weeks.
For almost three months, I watched Ryder put everything he had into his tour rehearsals. He was so excited to go back on tour and do what he loved the most (other than me).
Between rehearsals, he was still juggling his personal life. He made sure he went to Georgia every now and then, we made sure we sat down together to have dinner three times a week, and he even came to my brothers' graduation and graduation party a week before his tour kicked off again.
The day was finally here.
Ryder was making his come back to his tour.
The Charlotte show was sold out which mean 20,000 people were gonna be there to see my boy do his thing.
I put on a white backless bodysuit that had tie straps with a distressed denim skirt.
Addison, Hannah, Stella, Paisley, Elle, and Ariana all came over to my parents' house to get ready for Ryder's concert.
It was kinda like middle school all over again.
"You know it's just weird to think about the fact the last time we saw Ryder in concert together, we were all fourteen." Ariana pointed out as she did my hair
"He's so nervous, but I already know he's gonna kill it." I said to my friends
"Well, he hasn't toured in almost a year so it's understandable." Stella reminded me
Very true.
"Who else is coming?" Addy asked me
"Avery Turner, Diego Mendes - from Peach Jam, Brielle Thompson, Maddie Bryson, Ben Dermot, and Joey Berro. They're at hotels though." I answered her, "Plus his Dad and brothers."
