I walked into Avery and I's apartment to see her sitting on the couch wearing a face mask on her computer.

"Hey." She smiled as I walked in

I sat down next to her, "What's up?"

She looked at me, "Nothing much. What do you have planned for the day?"

"I'm actually done for the day. I just had to go meet with my personal trainer and then I did a little shopping. Now I'm just gonna shower and relax, it's been a crazy past week. What about you?" I told her

"I have to go get new head-shots at one then I have to go to an influencer party at eight. I just have to go to hair, makeup, and wardrobe at five thirty." She informed me

I looked at my phone, "It's already almost noon, you need to get a move on it."

"True, what would I do without you?" Avery smiled as she stood up

"Be late." I said as she walked off

She turned around and ran back, "You should call Ryder."

Of course, she said this just as I saw a picture Ryder posted a picture on Instagram.

I found myself missing him so much. I hadn't seen him since I got back from California, which was eight days ago. We were both very busy with our careers, but we did make sure to text every day.

"I should, but why are you so giddy about it?" I asked her with a smile

She smirked, "No reason, but hit him up."

Avery walked away and she still had that smirk on her face.

Oh, Avery.

I got off of the couch, took a shower, washed my hair, and did my skincare routine.

By the time I got out of the shower, Avery was gone.

The thing was now that I wasn't in school, I didn't know what to do in my downtime. There was no homework to work on, no dance class to go to, nothing. It was weird.

I got out my computer and did some online shopping and looked at apartments. As much as I loved Avery, I couldn't live with her forever.

But gosh, why were they so expensive.

My phone began to ring and I picked it up.

"Hey." I smiled

"Hey, Holly, are you busy?" Ryder asked me but his voice sounded so down

"No, why?" I wondered curiously

I could hear him shift around.

"Could you come over?" He wondered

I nodded, "Yeah, are you okay?"

"I'll talk about it more when you get here." He spoke unsurely

It worried me that he was this unsure because for as long as I knew Ryder, his voice has never sounded this dead.

"I'll see you in a little bit," I assured him before I hung up the phone

I put on a sweatshirt and leggings before I got a Uber to Ryder's place.

When he opened the door, he was wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants and his hair wasn't done.

"Thanks for coming, it means a lot to me." He spoke as he went in for a hug

I closed the door behind me.

"Ryder, what's wrong?" I asked him as we hugged

He moved away and walked towards the couch.
