Boston was a wild city and the nightlife was actually fun, the club we all went to together, Karma was a big club in the middle of the city. No one really bothered us inside and we had access to the VIP zone, which was a really big plus.
I promised Liz I wouldn't drink, which was probably for the best. I knew I was still sick but I didn't want to miss the chance to go out with my best friends and my beautiful girlfriend in the city that she loved before we all flew to Europe. We didn't have a lot of breaks in Europe so I wanted to spend all the time I had here with Elizabeth.
The music they played was actually good and at some point, during the night they even played youngblood, which was probably a subtle hint from the DJ that we were here. It was weird to hear your own song in a club when you weren't singing it live. Had to admit that they had a pretty good job on the remix.
At some point during the night when Michael and I were dancing, my phone started to buzz, a sign that I was being called.
I put my empty glass down at the bar and grabbed my phone from my pocket, seeing it was actually Liz who was calling. I frowned and lifted my head up, looking around quickly. She wasn't here. Maybe she went to the toilet and couldn't find us anymore. I answered the phone call and pressed my phone against my ear.
"Liz?" I said into the phone, trying to move to a quieter spot in the club, pressing one ear closed in the hope I could hear her better. She was saying something, but she was whispering and I couldn't hear it over the loud music. A loud crash followed and after that, the connection was gone. I dialed her number again, but it went straight to voicemail.
What the fuck?
I spun around and walked over to Michael. "Have you seen Liz?" I yelled in his ear and he looked at me with confusion. "No, I thought she was with you?" he yelled back, looking over his shoulder to find the brown-haired girl. I shook my head and walked over to Ashton, who was leaning against the bar talking to a random girl. I grabbed his shoulder. "Hey, do you know where Liz is?" I asked and he nodded. "Yeah, she went outside to call her mom." He said.
"When was that?" I asked and he grabbed his phone to check the time. "Like fifteen minutes ago or something? Why? What's wrong?"
I had a weird feeling in my gut, something wasn't right. "I don't know, she called me but I couldn't hear her over the music, but I heard a crash and after that, she was gone. She isn't picking up." I said, feeling like I was going to be sick.
"We gotta go outside. C'mon." Ashton said as he saw me turning pale. He grabbed my wrist and grabbed Michael as well. "She'll be fine. It's Liz, you know her, she probably dropped her phone when she was being her clumsy self." Ashton said and I nodded. I hope so.
We made our way through all the people. Michael went to get our coats as Ash and I went outside to the front exit of the club. We looked around for a bit but Liz wasn't there. I walked up to a few people smoking. "Hey mate, have you seen a girl here? Short, brown hair, wearing a black dress, high heels, about ye high." I asked them, showing him how tall Liz was with my hand. The dude shook his head. "Nope, but most people don't use the front exit as an exit anymore. Only newbies do that, most of us go out the back." He said.
Newbies, Liz used to go here all the time. She probably used to back door as an exit. Without even telling Ash and Michael, who rushed back outside with our coats, where I went, I made my way to the back doors.
